Branded Omnia on Vista - Rom Updates

Guys any of you had success with updating the rom on your Orange locked Omnias?
If so what was your steps you took to update the rom?

is urs branded? mine on orange is unbranded and unlocked.

what firm ware is urs?

Mines is orange unlocked & unbranded as well. I  upgraded to PDA HH3 Phone HI2. with out any probs, actually tried a few roms before staying with HH3.

Sorry guys it aint branded.
The rom its currently on is -
PDA - i900XXHG5/MSHG1
PHONE - i900XXHG5

What methods did you guys use to update and was it on Vista?

I just have updated successfully to DXHH3 using VMWare.

Just make sure you have enough RAM for it to run absolutely without swapping, also set it to High Priority to prevent possible interruptions of upload. Dual core CPU will help too.

What software did you use to update urs and what was ur original ROM?
I've used my friends XP the other day but that also didn't work.

Official updater - i900DXHH3.exe
My original ROM was the same (I have same Orange unbranded & unlocked as you are).

I don't think its such a big risk really. Several people already reported success with VMWare on Vista in this forum, and there were no reports of failures yet. So I would guess its pretty much the same risk as updating at all.
I know that VMware usb bridge is somewhat less tolerant in timings than pure usb port, but it appears not that relevant with pretty slow usb rom upload speeds.

Basically I had a choice - to update on PC with XP without UPS or to update on laptop with Vista in VMware. I decided that risk of power outage is much more real ;)

I've used vmware (Win XP Pro) and again im getting incorrect version.
I updated my phone to be the Italian Region and still the same thing.

Any ideas pls?
