Hi guys,

Wondering how you guys on Orange managed to get hold of your Omnia?  I just phoned Orange CS to ask about an upgrade (my contract runs out on 02/10/08) and the guy said that they don't do the handset for upgrade?????  Even though I told him it was available in the shops and the website as an upgrade.  He said 'The computer says...no' - it really was a classic Little Britain moment.  If he said it was out of stock I would understand but he actually said 'Not available as an upgrade'.

I was a little angry to say the least and when I tried to get off the phone quickly he started to get worried (considering the end of my contract is nigh ;)) and said keep checking over the next days blah blah blah.  He didn't even offer to call back when it became available!!!

I have been struggling with my conscience to either get the iPhone, the Omnia, or wait for the HTC Touch HD (Although the only thing it has over the Omnia is a bigger screen and better res - I am leaning towards the Omnia because of the better camera, faster processor, large storage, out of the box divx playback).

I have been with Orange for a long time and recently (last couple of years) their CS has been pretty good.  The phone has been out for over a month now and to say it isn't available over upgrade (everything is available - for a price!) is a little stupid from my POV.

Anyway if anyone knows of a good reason as to why they have said that then fair enough - otherwise they have one last chance - else it is goodbye....

my contract on orange was due to run out on the 9th nov, the omnia was on the website for upgrade for £200 for my contract (dolphin 35), but if i checked as a new cust on the dolphin 35 it was only £80, so i was gonna switch, but they called me on wed, offered me the phone free and 10% off my contract, i thought for a nano second before agreeing and i got the phone yesterday!
so they must have some somewhere (16gig unbranded as well ;) )

I have mine on Orange, they were trying to charge me £200, but simply pointing out they are offering it free on the £35 plans to new customers worked for me. Been with Orange a while so why the hell should I not be rewarded for loyalty. In the end free phone plan down to £25 a month with 600 mins, unlimited texting and a data pack.

If upgrades dept cant offer what you want. to retain business they should be passing calls through to customer relations (retentions)
