A camera patch, to make your i900/i908's camera mute.

CameraMute v0.2 - 12/10/2008
* Fixed: Fix the bug on the selection of the location
* Improved: Change the installation way, now do not need to choose the location to install
* Improved: Change the compression way, so that the installation files more compact

CameraMute v0.1 - 11/10/2008
* First release

i thought all you had to do was turn the volume off on your phone?

when i do that the camera is silent for me.

Yes no need any patch, just put your phone in silent mode or vibrate, then the camera shutter will mute.

an installer is always good

i just replace the the equivalent files in \Windows with those in the attachment.

also size reduced to minimal compared to the original files

(only silences shutter 3 and vid recording)

Yes: Replace Windows\AutoFocus.wav and maybe also AutoFocusFail.wav (I left AutoFocusFail.wav as is).


I also muted the Samsung-startup and -shutdown sound by replacing PowerOn.wav and PowerOff.wav in the Windows folder. Names might differ when you use a branded ROM.
Edit: Just seen that AutoFocus.wav is already included in the cab-file posted here - so do you mean something else with "AF" than auto focus?

I installed the CameraMute v0.2 patch on my Omnia, but there is no option to uninstall it and I didn't find any way to change it back...   can someone please upload the original camera sounds and post a download link here??? is there a cab file to reverse the change? I'd greatly appreciate your help

Also, nifty app, although I was also unaware that being in silent mode removed the sound as well...good to know.

I would like to be able to do this as well. I did not realise it could be muted from the phone

My Device> Windows

Replace the Shutter01, Shutter02, Shutter03 files with the one provided by KSTAN above
