Hi.I dont know if any topic posted about this before.
I just discover that "welcomehead.96.png" file can be changed for customizing the boot screen on omnia.
Here are some samples.
Just copy the file to your windows directory, overwrite the file and soft reset.

Hi,

How can I copy the file to the \Windows ?
I get a message that the original file is protected. When I try to delete the original, it says that it is inside the ROM and can not be changed...

Thank you.

I was trying to say that this did not work... What type of explorer did you use on the machien ? Resco reported "Can not rename file '...'. Access Denied". When I try to delete the original file, I got: "File '...' is in ROM memory! You can not delete it.".

How did you manage to copy the file ?

i use built-in file explorer, here is what i did...... send file to ur phone's storage, then open the file explorer tap menu, then tap show all file. go to windows and paste the file in windows directary. tap and hold on the file that u copied then rename to welcomehead.96 instead welcomehead_96             soft reset, watch the screen

Hay... You were right, The builtin explorer did the rename. it worked...

Now I wonder how can I recover the original file ? since the ROM file was not deleted, I need to copy a copy of the original file to \windows then I will have a ROM file that is not pointed and a RAM file that is pointed - a waste of storage on the RAM... good that these are small files...

I will try now to do some work on the PhonePad files...

dont worry about recovering the original file. after u soft reset the phone u can only see the new file in windows which is 75.8Kb in size, try to delete the new file from windows and soft reset. the original one will still be there, it's about 174Kb in size.

P.S. whatever u r working on, plz share with Omnian......

I notice this splash screen changes too fast to notice. I'm looking to change the animated one that appears before this.

Look for ANi_Poweroff.gif and Ani_Poweron.gif, in the same folder.

Nice changing the boring old start-up screen, cheers grandiotk.

The other splash screens are looking pretty swish, though too so I may be tempted to switch
