Just to confirm the US units work fine on UK 3G, and woek with t-mobile UK with no tweaking :-)
Some reports claimed that the $399 'offline' units weren't sim locked. Mine are despite being ordered in as 'offline' by t-mob USA. Currently unlocking can be done for $22.99 online. Note you *will* need an active U.S or UK t-mobile sim with a data connection to start up a brand new handset as otherwise you can't register a google account and can't use the phone at all other than emergency calls.
