(Minor Update: 08 Nov 08) Custom "Lite" (LTE02) ROM on DTHJ9 with FlashLite3.1 & UC

Hi people, here's the second version of a "Lite" version.

Edit: I have updated the ROM to include a few fixes, such as Office and there was a problem with the Preconfiguration and UC and also problems with some taskswitchers. Overall, I find the ROM more responsive as I think I had a bad build for the original LTE02.

I cleaned out the CSC properly this time with some great new tools from PDAClan.com and that was causing some problems in the previous versions.

Also added an option to Donate directly to me, thanks Paul for allowing me to use your app.

Changes are about the same as LTE01 but apps have been optimised so it takes less space and of course it's on the latest HJ9 ROM thanks to secany... keep up the good work dude :lol:

Other changes:

- SilverInbox included as it seems to be working now.

- Windows Live removed. For Messenger, you can get the CAB here

- ASPlayer(StreamingPlayer) removed, so install your favourite streaming player like coreplayer or tcpmp to view certain streams.

- TouchPlayer removed, so windows media will open files. You can find the CAB here.

- Zoomer removed. Does anyone even use it? ;)

- Fixed UC... hopefully. (please test and let me know)

- Optimised Office Apps.

As usual, thanks to all who have supported me and I apologise if I'm unable to answer all PM's, I will try to when I have the time. As you know the Omnia community is small and HTC seem to get all the "goodies", so thanks again to all contributors that make our, already brilliant, Samsung Omnia better.

- A few registry tweaks on security policies

Did not remove Opera as it would be too much work, besides the Beta versions do not work with FL3.1. Cab files for Today screens and other apps can be found in Dr.Dot's post or at xda-dev.

Note: UC was not cooked in properly, so please manually run SDAutorun.exe to initiate. Sorry...

Also lets say Opera was removed, and we installed a cab to the MyStorage would that make any diff?

I would love it if someone came out with a hack to tie MyStorage and the Roms memory together !!!!

I'm still with Black Daimond and not Paul's DTHJ6-MCR2 because I don't know how to get the Chinese SIP to work in Paul's ROM.

In my system, the "My Storage" folder does not exist. Instead, "My Documents" has taken its place. I am using the second incarnation of Passoa's Manilla. Excellent! I will post a screen capture soon.

Here is a screen capture of my root directory. As you can see, there is no "My Storage". Instead, the "My Documents" has a little MMC sign next to it. Automatically, all programs are installed under "My Documents" now (if not in ROM). Additionally to the 16 Mb of "My Documents", I have a card of another 16 Mb which you can see as "Storage Card". I have also modified the registry, so that for photos, videos, music, ringtones etc. it defaults to the relevant directory under "My Documents". No problems so far!

I have flashed the rom and have not encountered any problems so far. All the directories are there. Do not really like the blue Opera interface though as i use a all black task bar.

FL3.1 can only view Flash8/9 sites that do not have ActionScript 3 enable, if not you will not be able to view them. Also some sites are already using Flash10, so you obviously can't view them too. You can read more about it here.

You can download the original black scheme in the attachment and copy and paste (do not unzip the file) to \Application Data\Opera9\skin\ on your device.

Tried it for M2D01, but it didn't really make a difference, enabling XTRA under enhanced GPS settings worked better.

But my ROM has more storage :D Furthermore, Paul optimised his apps, I didn't :lol:

I was going to say that had to be the difference. You would probably shave off another 10MB if you did that because you removed tons of stuff that he left in. We have a how to cook :lol: thread but now need a how to optimize :D thread

- Remove Welcome Center

- Remove MS Sample Music

- Remove Chinese fonts (sunfon.ac3)

- Remove IRDA files

That would make the Omnia the true boss rig :D ;) . Many have mentioned it but something like that is WAY beyond my abilities :lol:
