On which logo it got stuck? On the Omnia logo during boot? When it got stuck there than your only chance to awake your Omnia again is a hardreset. That's hard I know but in this case the only solution.

As long as were on the subject....how do you do a hard reset on an Omnia...without the software?

I haven't made it through the manual yet, but if you get stuck on logo, obviously any reset software they place on it won't help, so there has to be an alternate meathod!!!

thanks

Maybe you're right, but when you haven't tried it yet you can't say that's not working.

You can make a manual hardreset by doing the following:
- Switch of the Omnia
- Press and hold the "Answer" and the "End Call" button
- Press the reset button right beside the power on/off button on the top of the Omnia fir 5 sec.
- After 5 sec. a screen with 2 options (format and cancel) should appear, choose format

Another solution is flashing the phone with a new firmware. In this case here it doesn't matter if you loose your data with a hardreset or if you flash your phone. In the second case you get working phone and a brandnew version at the same time.

Sorry mate I was only joking. I don't know why this is not working for you. I tried different times and always had success. But when you want to hardreset your device why don't you flash it with a new version for example DXHK1?

Mainly because my phone is not recognized by usb in any computer. No hope of a solution?

On many Omnias, including mine, it is very difficult to achieve a hard reset using the buttons, but it can be done!!! I can do it now every time, within 3-4 attempts...

The trick is to very lightly press the two hardware buttons, then press the soft reset button (1 sec is enough) using the stylus. Keep your fingers on the 2 hardware buttons (light pressure). If within 2-3 seconds you do not see the special screen asking to format, then re-adjust the pressure of your fingers, and soft reset again.

I have found that the buttons, on mine at least, seem to have two pressure levels. When I press very lightly, I feel a small click, and if I press harder I feel a second click. For a hard reset to work on my Omnia, I must not push the buttons past the first pressure point. You really have to apply minimum pressure.

This pressure problem was documented early on in the PPCSG forum. The first time I tried, it took me over 50 tries to succeed. Now I have the hang of it.

Good luck.

Oh man, thanks a million!! :( I tried around 40 times myself, in many different ways and I wasn't able to hardreset, I thought I had lost it. Then I read your post, softly pushed the buttons, and on the first try I had success! You're the man! B)
