Guest q8doctor Posted January 1, 2009 Report Share Posted January 1, 2009 I had the chance to try the new HTC HD and was amazed with its screen sensitivity compared to the Omnia (my ROM is DHH3 with SPB Plus Smart-scrolling activated) Its Super easy to scroll the Internet pages and emails and the program menu in the HD. As far as I understand its only about software setting as both devices have the same version of the operating system WM 6.1 I have searched the forum and even google for how to increase Omnia screen sensitivity but couldn't find any software or .cab that can fix the problem, only re-calibration of the screen with sharp objects which seems to do a little help So what do you guys think?? :rolleyes: :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Yunabeco Posted January 1, 2009 Report Share Posted January 1, 2009 The Omnia screen sucks in term of sensitivity, and I'm afraid nobody can help it. A proper calibration can help, of course, but it won't change the hardware. There isn't any sensitivity setting unlike the HTC (through registry if I remember correctly), or, at least, none has been found yet. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong somewhere. Omnias camera is also 5mp Off topic: And Omnia's camera has many more options like smile detection, etc. Omnia has LED flash, but HD doesn't so forget about taking pictures in clody day, indoor, in the afternoon, at night, etc. (when/where isn't enough light...) Omnia's video is far more better than HD's with resolution and bitrate. And the faster processor of Omnia improves camera performance. :off HD is more sensitive than Omnia and there's nothing we can do. Anyway replacing Omnia with HD isn't really smart decession. Click OK to save it. You may also wish to copy down the old data before you input the new one. My OLD Value Data was 505,512 172,875 163,147 846,148 829,876 and yours might be different a bit. Emre, I have both smartphones at home (in fact we have my wife´s IPhone 3G also), and I was just telling my opinion after using HD and Omnia for some days. I was not asking for advise but giving a different point of view for those who intend buying a smartphone. Back to the point of the original post, for those who didn´t have a chance to use both smartphones: screen sensitivity of HD is much (I mean much !) better than Omnia. This change will make where you press on the screen more accurate, but it doesn't seem to change how hard/light you have to touch the screen for it to respond. Thnx.. that works great :rolleyes: Mrhoffmann and everyone that this has worked for, has this actually changed how hard you have to press on the screen? There has been no change for me. And more specifically about the Omnia: did anyone try to install .net3,5 on it? I have installed (and activated it ) on the HD and all the system , specially the browsing improved noticeably; has anyone tried it on our beloved Omnia? For portrett/landscape switching on HD have a look at Gsens The screen sensitivity and general speed of Omnia varies quite alot according to which ROM version you use, some of the latest cooked ones has been very fast and have great sensitivity.
