Sector, thanks for your fantastic rom. I know a clean rom is one which gives users options to configure their own preferences. But for an app like a anti-theft software, it would be great if it could survive hard resets and therefore require cooking into a rom. Are you interested in including an anti-theft software such as remote tracker in the rom?

This is just my first attempt making a rom and i havent thought about that...
But i guess if you point the audience to some anti-theft tools, anyone can install what he likes on his device.

He was referring to that installing an anti-theft tool as a cab is not to effective since a simple hard refresh will remove it again, but if it were included in the ROM it would still work even after a hard reset.

First of all, thanks to Sector for the nice work
I always too wish that someone can build anti-theft tool into the rom so that it's always there after the 'thieve' hard resets the phone BUT think again.....
If we still want the anti-theft tool to still be able to function and send tracking details of the thieve's new SIM card's IMEIs and GPS locations etc back to us hp owners after the hard reset, it means that our sms notification number MUST be configured into the rom. So.... that to me is the real obstable because the sms number differs for every hp owner.
So unless you know of a way to counter the above, building anti-theft tool into the rom isn't really useful at all except perhaps if the tool has some password control thingy upon hard reset that prevents the phone from being used by an unauthorised password. But then again, if it's going to be built into the rom it's going to end up as a 'common' password to everyone, rite?

hi akiden I agree that the default password flashed into the rom will be the same for everyone. Dunno if there is an ability to rewrite the default password in the rom each time, therefore after first time customisation, the new password is rewritten into the rom.

hi~
can resume work on this but without the extra spb mobile shell n other trialwares?
only thing preventing me from using your rom is the bluetooth problem and since u figured out how to fix it, I would very much like to try your rom.
Thanks!

Hi Sector this is my 1st post on any Omnia topic. I have a UK Vodafone branded handset
version PDA i900XXHHD/ACHH3
PHONE i900BUHH2
Do I have 2 flash 2 the samsung update 1st to get rid of the branding before flashing with a custom ROM?
All I want is lots of space on main memory which yours has, a good battery life & b able 2 play videos from youtube etc so ur ROM looks ace.
Lots of other ROM's out there but I'm also interested in making my own when I think I'm able so a blank (ish) ROM is great.
Just needs 2 have no issues ie the bluetooth 1 th@ cannot b overcome. I'm not 1 of these guys who ask wh@ a CAB file is but just wondered if u add some programs in the ROM can things like the standard win mo programs ie sms, outlook & calculator b swerved & others like sms chat, thumbcal etc b put in there place so things like SPB Shell open them by default?
Cool if u can help me out @ all my friend as I'm just getting the bug off messin round with the Omnia & win mo in general.
Oh last thing...if I ever needed 2 send my fone back 2 Vodafone could I set the ROM back so they would not know bout it? I wanna flash it now but just waiting till I know things a little more.
If I take ur ROM I'll drop u some dollar 4 a few scoop's.
