OK, here's my first publicy released ROM.

I have updated the XIP and SYS to 20757 version, you will see this from settings-about page.

Added:
Nothing

Updated:
SYS/XIP to 20757
.NET 3.5
Flash Lite 3.1

Removed:
Almost everything that can be removed

Kept:
Things that can't be removed :P
e.g. fm radio, internet sharing etc
Java
Windows Update (don't ask me why)

Storage:
158.97MB free

Program memory:
67.72MB free

Also included in this is the complete BT fix, courtesy of Liads, KhuanChai and myself :(
Note that I have only tested the BT fix with MS Voice Command and it took a few soft resets before it started working...

Now, to flash this you will have to use Grand Prix as I don't really like using the all in one exes.
Start Grand Prix, choose the profile (there is only 1), select the boot image, then select the pda bin image. Ensure update bootloader is checked, then click detect, turn on phone, then click start.
Everything you need is in the archive.

Note I have not included the phone part as you can choose whichever version to update to yourself. I am currently using BUIB1, link here:
http://www.modaco.co...hone-bin-buib1/

Link to my stuff here:
http://rapidshare.co...lean_pda_v2.rar

Please download the attached bootimage.zip (actually created with winrar) as I forgot to upload the bootimage and Grand Prix in V2...

Feedback greatly appreciated! B)

ps. This version has the finger mouse issue, so just don't use that part of the software... this is present in all ROMs with SYS update...

Thanks m8 downloading now. Have you managed to fix the wake up problem? Is BT fix working?

Yup, flash with GP.
Wakeup problem fixed.
Mouse issue still needs to be fixed, not sure how many ppl actually use it...
Multi-selection doesn't work in file explorer, but i'd recommend something like resco instead.  Seems to have been disabled by MS in new versions of the OS as many HTC devices got same problem...

Not got any pics to upload at the moment since it's just the same interface didn't think it was necessary, I'll try and install the screen capture tool tomorrow or something.
For the BT Voice command, just install MS Voice Command and reboot then it should all work.
Thanks for being the 2nd to try out this version! :(

I tried 20954 but couldn't get phone to work, doesn't seem to want to run cprog for some reason, not sure if it's some certificate thing or something.  Even tried replacing parts with 20757 version but still doesn't like it.
I built the new ROM almost the same as described by lastnikita but instead of using the supplied xip I created my own one since I also wanted the bt fix and it just worked.
Things i've noticed is that if your xip not working, then you'll stop at logo, if xip and sys don't match then you'll get some beeps after booting then blank screen and usb goes crazy.

Oops... that was something I didn't check when making the lite version... I recall something that lastnikita or stzupy saying about one of the options in syakr seemed to remove bluetooth....  :(
Give me 1hr and I should find which it is, if not I'll upload a fuller fat version of the firmware...
Sorry for the inconvenience

Great job you are doing here bro. Thanks

Any chance of a FAT version ie nothing removed + nothing added, except bt of course? That would be awesome for those of us who prefer not tinkering too much with installing or replacing stuff that is already there. I am sure that I am not the only one who will appreciate that.

Thanks again.

hmm.. that version screen shot looks strangely similar to mine... you're using the exact combination i am :(
I assume the memory page is after you've installed all your fav apps?
I'm almost there with the BT issue, narrowed it down to just a few apps just now....

I will post a fuller fat version tomorrow night... my broadband has a max upload of 60KB woohoo

Thats why you are here bro, to crack it :(. It will be something simple, as there arent many reasons why it doesnt work (to an extent)

I built the new ROM almost the same as described by lastnikita but instead of using the supplied xip I created my own one since I also wanted the bt fix and it just worked.
Good to hear. When i get time, i will try to solve that puzzle myself. If WM6.5 (a mixture of SYS's) can work, then we should be able figure why 20954 wont work.
I really liked it. It was failry stable, yeah the mouse didnt work (i dont use anyway) and you cant multiple select files in Explorer (just use something else), but everything was fine, same if not quicker than 20270 (standard). I had nothing to worry about.

This is the best advice i heard in a long time. The first time it doesnt boot, you kinda brick yourself B) too. But now i know there are a couple of scenarios. I experienced only the first one, so i wont be mixing and matching too much.

Steven

cool bro..

Comments above. Thanks mate, keep on playing and figuring stuff out, it helps us all, . Congrats again on your ROM, something different for the folks around the globe....

A full version would suit a lot of people. If you only updating SYS etc, then this will be a good addtion to their collections. Good idea from Bobobird :P.

I will make a ROM later with your BT fix..Just gotta do some design work.:D

Now this seems a bit unbelievable but.... I can't seem to find the option that causes BT to go missing!!!  For some reason re-running with the same config file, BT is still there!  This is a very strange one...
Anyway, I will be uploading a new version shortly.

Yes shots above are with all my apps installed.

Also why the phone doesn't auto reboot after a hard reset?

Well I flashed it with an .exe I built from your files plus IB1 phone.bin. Did 4 hard resets and the problem is there... really don't know. :(
