I´ts impossible to update your phone changing the ROM  region without changing the Country

Change your phone Country, update the rom, and back your country again

You can also update to a custom ROM.  Those will forgo the country region.  Check the threads at the beginning of this ROM forum for the most popular ROM - just about all of them are based on DXIA5.  I'm personally using the one from Taril - which is great!  If you're concerned about official, then this one has all of the original Samsung apps, plus some new and very useful additions.  See the link below for more information.  Oh, and if you've never flashed a ROM before, make sure that you follow the instructions very carefully.  Flashing instructions are also on Samsung's Omnia page - just click on the "Upgrade Your Omnia" link.
