Guest pistu34
Hello. I started to look for big files on my Omnia in Windows folder that I don't use. As they cannot just be simply deleted, I started to replace them with a 4 byte file with the same name. Howevery, I noticed that MEMORY applet does not show any increase in free device storage availability... How and why? I want to get rid of wma, wav Shozu, and similar files that I don't use.. Guest pistu34
Actually what I do is to overwrite old ugly big files with small neat ones with total commander. But these fake files seem to coexist with the old ones, that is why there is no gain of free storage memory, even if the old big files are not visible, only the small new ones. But as soon as I delete the new ones, the old big ones pop up again in the win folder.... Anyone knows how to REALLY overwrite these files??? Guest wingzerove
Sounds like you're trying to modify some system files, now why would you want to do that? In either case, don't blame me if you do anything bad to your phone, but when I had to change the sdbus.dll and sdmemory.dll on my phone, I had the same problem. What I had to do was to try and delete the files first and then create a folder with the exact file name and extension. I then just did a soft reset and renamed the folders (now called copy_of_sdbus.dll) to the proper one. IDK how relevant this is though.
