I have to do some testing, I get a 'Time Wizard' and 'Download agent' error at start up, but I have ~97 megs free after a hard reset.

97 megs... geez i'm itching to see what you come up with..

It could be 'zoomer'.  I will  get rid of it in my next test rom, and check to see if the zoom still happens with sms messages.

Edit: I have a new rom waiting at home to be flashed.  I will let you know later today.

Cool - was thinking it was zoomer, but not sure how it interacted with the system - if it was a customization to the base messaging code or an "add on"...  Hopefully that latter - so that we can remove it ;-)

So i was originally getting this information for the unlock of the GPS, but the person getting this to me was a little slow. I dont know if it will help at all with what we are doing here, but here is a dump from a Telus rom, maybe they have some things on here you may be interested in.

I am stuck at this point.

I used osbntool to get my nb0 file, and then per what you said, I renamed it to PDA.bin.

When running ExtractROM_Bin, I get errors.

Suggestions?

You need to change the name if the .nb0 file to pda.bin.  When I have time to create a guide and find hosting, I can have a nice kitchen set up.

6.5 sure looks sweet...
i wonder what would happen if i just simply use the 6.5 img instead of the one we have...?
just use the UMDL and choose the 6.5 img...
what u guys think?
im willing to experiment...
if it sounds logical :excl:

From everything I've read about 6.5 so far, that would not work.

Damn! You guys are killing me! Family is traveling for the holiday weekend, and I need  my phone to work, so I can't risk any of this  today (including flashing the leaked rom) so I'm just all depressed about it.

I'l start on Tuesday after we get back and I can afford to have my phone out of commission. By then WoZZeR999 with probably have a fully automated kitchen :-)

Actually, I'm almost there.  It's kind of a jumble of a few different i900 kitchens.  I'm trying to make everything I can into a package, so I can make a *Super Lite*, *Lite*, Standard, M2D, maybe a throttle launcher one, maybe a SPB one.  And I could do all that from 1 folder.

I'm going to take a look into 6.5 this weekend, but I'm not 100% sure if I can do it.

Umm, where is the nb0 at? I don't see it and it looks like everything is broken apart correctly.

The .nb0 is the first split from OSnbtools.
Extractbin does another extraction on it.

so if you do OSnbtools -sp image.img, you'll get image.img.bin.nb0.  rename that file.

Oh, Ok. I cheated and used your extractrom_bin. Worked like a charm :excl:

Okay, I think Ive done enough testing for at least a semi-public release.  This release is not for the faint of heart, it's basically a clean slate.  If I have removed stuff that you want, you'll have to go find a cab for it, figure out how to put it back in (today2 needs secst.dll or something, there is also a today2 cab floating around somewhere).

Things removed (maybe more, going off the top of my head now):
Today
Today 2
Samsung Widgits
Connected Home
Digital Frame
FM Radio
Main Menu (you'll want to re-assign this button, it will be task manager/switcher in later releases)
Podcasts
RSS Reader
Ringtones (you'll want to find a new ringtone and set it, this release comes with none)
Shozu
VZAppzone link
VZNav link

Updated:
CF 2.0 -> 3.5
Flash lite 2.1 -> 3.1
All EXE's optimized

Added:
Official Facebook app
Latest google maps
Java
Total Commander

Things you have to do yourself after installing:
Enable GPS (if you don't know how to do this, you probably shouldn't be flashing)
Internet seems to work most the time, but if it doesn't, the data number is #777
Disable the Today plug-in that is loaded
--Probably more that I do not know about.

Link: See my later threads for an updated version

Instructions:

Extract rar to UDML directory.
Open UDML
Click PDA
FlashOS.bin will show up.
Flash as normal.  You are only flashing the PDA part of the ROM, so you can easily go back.

You should be able to flash back to the original PDA img with UDML v2.3.  Load the .img, uncheck eboot and CSC, and this will put you back to the Original CC20 rom.

Please let me know of any problems you have with the rom, and I will try to fix them over the weekend.

I've had a few downloads, anyone try it yet?  I also don't know if it works with the old Eboot,CSC and Phone.  I recommend updating your eboot and csc to the current firmware, then flash over the PDA with this.

wow, you really should have mentioned that right away. I was actually considering flashing the PDA part with your image, while my phone is still old, original VZW firmware, which I couldnt update to new leaked ROM. Without knowing if it works with the original ROM this is kinda useless...not going to kill my 2nd Omnia in 1 day span.
