Guest thierryyy Posted April 9, 2009 Report Share Posted April 9, 2009 (edited) fter the great success of version 1, Rozenthal from xda-developers has released version 2.1 of FingerKeyboard2, a finger friendly pocket pc freeware keyboard. INSTALLATION: IF YOU HAVE OLDER VERSIONS OF FINGERKEYBOARD, PLEASE UNINSTALL THEM BEFORE INSTALLING V2.1! After removing old version, please restart the device and remove FingerKeyb folder before proceeding! Run the attached .cab file (recommend you install to device memory). The keyboard will install into /Program files/FingerKeyb. There is also a link to Configuration tool in the Start > Programs. After installation, a Configuration utility will open. Here you can customize the layouts, choose color schemes and configure various options of FingerKeyboard2. Click on OK and softreset the device. Open up your standard keyboard (in SMS for example), click on the small arrow next to the middle keyboard icon and go to “Other input options”. FingerKeyb should be listed there, select it and you’re good to go! If you wish to set FingerKeyb as default keyboard, even after restart of your device, use SIP change application. Remember to set the time-delay to 40-50 seconds! HOW TO UNINSTALL? Go into Settings > System > Remove programs. It is listed as “Exidler’s FingerKeyboard”. Guest thescope Posted April 9, 2009 Report Share Posted April 9, 2009 I have it since it came out (2 days ago?) anywho, It is the BEST keyboard ever!! they remove the buttom bar so to give you more screen when the keyboard is up, and lots of display options and general options. The fingerboard 2.1 is very easy to use, very basic, and has a couple things you can customize... like smileys and bind certain keys with words or sentences. Its also free... but in its early stages of beta. the other is quite confusing, but still good and i kinda like it more. It was interesting but then I saw reference to Touchpal, tried that and have stuck with it. The full version is awesome. Great error correction, predictive even to the next word. Guest Krueschi Posted June 1, 2009 Report Share Posted June 1, 2009 I have installed FKB on the Device Storage, My Storage and the micro SD Card too. It didn´t work on anyone Storage. That is my Problem. I have delete the Folders, Reset my Omnia and try some other versions of FKB .. nothing works. Guest methadone Posted June 3, 2009 Report Share Posted June 3, 2009 Hi, I have been using this for a few days now, even modding the layouts a bit (needed a better swedish keyboard). I have one problem tho: since I installed it, my phone has started to get stuck in sleep mode, just once or twice every day, it wont come back on no matter what I do, and is forced to soft reset it. Anyone else having similar problems? I dint have this problem with 2.0, just 2.1.. Also: does anyone know of a good editor that can handle unicode/utf-8, would really like this so that I can edit the layouts directly on the phone and not need to transfer the layout .txt files to a computer first?
