Enabling aGPS with Telus

Hi there

I have the Telus Phone since 1 week and I have already GPS unlocked. But I check another post about the Verizon Version, and the can change aGPS setting to use cellular tower.

The problem is with Telus verison, we can't put the phone in Diag Mode to get working QPST tool for changing GPSOne settings.

I know the Telus is very close or similar of Verizon.

( I found a cray thing this morning by browsing the registry, under HKCU\\ControlPanal\Sounds\, we can find a key "VerizonWireless". I don't know if it's a error but it is like the rom copied from Verizon !?!)

But anyway, I tried many dialer code to be in Diag mode or Dmrouter.exe but nothing left.

I'm not the only one with this problem with Telus.. maybe Bell version also.

Any help ??!

You do not need to put the i910 into a diag mode or use dmrouter - this is required for some other devices but not this one. As we discussed on another post, you need to enable: Settings > System > Data Connection > Set "As the modem through USB". However your device does not have the Data Connection icon in Settings.

If we can run dataconnection.exe through a command line program with the appropriate switch, this may work. Anyone have any ideas?

I tried the info on MSDN web site and my telus OMNIA i910 (Canada) works fine if I have a clear sky. But some times it lags and tell me it is a "week GPS signal". I managed to use Google Maps with My Location feature and it discovered my location to an amazing accuracy. All this was done without flashing the rom, since I am not sure it will work.
