So I went to the local Verizon Store to replace my Omnia...screen would not calibrate for s*** so i got one coming in the mail...the rep told me to brick my omnia cause if they see it has the leaked rom they may charge me for it.... and a lil fyi the Verizon rep i was talking to told me he has not heard a lick about certain windows mobile phones getting their GPS chip unlocked.....but he did tell me all blackberry devices have functional gps now...RIM was not to happy about Verizon putting a "boot" on their merchandise... he too has the omnia with the leaked rom...lol and is also hoping for gps update...we exchanged numbers and he said as soon as he knows anything he'd let me know....any creative ideas on how to kill an omnia????

Start doing a rom update, then pull the cord out half way.

Would they really accept that? I think my screen has some problems caused by pressure and this seems like an easy out.

This is the i9x0 forum. Don't be a dick.
I know the original ROM is around here somewhere too, you could either flash back to it or do what the others are saying and pull the plug half way through. Just do it with the CC20, not the cooked ones because if you pull the plug on a cooked one it wont brick the phone, it will just cripple it.

Yank the battery during a Rom update would prolly work too. Dropping it in water wouldn't be a good idea since they don't cover water damage. Or play some music for a while..or something with high power demand..get it really warm then try to update the rom while its nice and toasty.
And if all else fails try updating it with a PC running ME....I know active sync prolly didn't exist then. Ok its late I'm rambling and I need some rest......

topic is very misguiding, lot of people seeing it are hoping for good news but then its all abt killing an omnia....
probably the topic of the thread should be changed to something else like: How to destroy ur omnia permanently
or " Dont try this at home !!, alone or unsupervised! " LOL

Like others are saying...yank the cord, or if you KNOW you have a USB 1.0 try flashing the CC20 onto it since this has been discovered to brick the phone.

pull the cable while updating should help to kill your device unless u got a j-tag machine like the serviceprovider..
