I just spoke to a T-Mobile business operator who stated that T-Mobile had CANCELLED the MDA Vario V. Has anyone else heard the same?
However, she did say that the MDA Compact V would be available from tomorrow (10th June).

Well given that the Compact V isn't on their site today, I'd take it with a pinch of salt.
I really hope she's wrong. Mobilephonesdirect have a great price for it, but I'd rather deal directly with the operator if possible...

That's pretty good - what did you have to do to get that price? I'm on a business contract already and am paying 30 a month (well out of contract) but when I was thinking of upgrading a while back was told that since I'm paying virtually nothing over my monthly rate, I'd get virtually nothing off the phone, so the original Diamond would have still cost me ~150-200 to upgrade. I didn't bother going via customer services/retentions so still looking around.

I spoke to T-Mobile today who just said that they didn't have them and they weren't in the system.
Got my PAC. Maybe I'll try an upgrade from mobilephonesdirect. I don't fancy Vodafone much. I'll phone about their upgrades, or port to an Orange PAYG then start a new T-Mob contract and port back.
Any idea how long I have to be on Orange PAYG before they'll let me port off it?

I'm toying with the idea of doing the exact same thing, although maybe porting to O2 PAYG - does anyone recommend an operator that's good for allowing you to port out quickly?

Just got a call from T-Mobile today as well saying that the Vario V has been removed from their system for unknown reasons and that they do not think it will be going back on

I spoke to someone today (they phoned me to ask what it would take to keep me) and she claimed that the Vario V would be out on the 8th July and cost "significantly less" than the IV.
That said, I'm not 100% convinced that she wasn't thinking about the Compact V, but my PAC is valid until the 12th July, so will wait and see.

Someone at T-Mobile must follow Modaco. Please, can we have a definitive answer? Is T-Mobile getting the Touch Pro 2/Vario V or not? If yes, when?
Edited to add: I just had a "live chat" on the T-Mobile site. The agent stated that the Vario V was coming "at the end of summer", but if I needed more detail I should phone.

I just listened to a message left by T-Mobile stating that the COMPACT V would be available on 8th July. No mention of Vario V.

The only tarrif I've seen on Vodafone says unlimited internet but then says they mean 500mb a month. That's half what I currently get
I REALLY want this phone, but T-Mobile confirmed to me today when I went into their store that they won't be getting it. They also said the window for them getting new windows mobile phones has now closed and they won't get any new ones until probably January next year. The compact V is there, in their monthy catalogue.
I am looking for the best deal on the Rhodium with unlimited internet now, as I've held one today and it's much nicer than my Vario III

I suppose it depends if you need your full 1GB each month. The only other alternative that I can think of is somewhere like mobilephonesdirect who sell the HTC version of the phone on a Tmobile contract with WnW

He said he wasn't sure why, but it might have been due to lack of interest (do they CHECK the forums?? :/)
Mobilephonesdirect it is then. Can't be doing with waiting for the Hero.

I ported my number from T-Mobile to O2 PAYG and requested my PAC from O2 about 3 days after the number had ported in. They gave it to me straight away over the phone and a letter also arrived the next day. Already ordered mine with MobilePhonesDirect going back to T-Mobile.
Virgin PAYG is good for this, as it's the same network, so Virgin Sims work on locked TMob handsets, while you are waiting to transfer back.

Hello,
Sadly I have been told by the Upgrades Team today (August 17th 2009) that the Vario V has been "withdrawn from the range" - when asked to explain what this means, he stated the Vario V will not be on T-Mobile UK, and no reasons are given as to why.
Very sad news, it means I'll probably leave T-Mobile after many years . . .

You can upgrade via mobilephonesdirect.com
And you get an unbranded TP2, so no waiting for T-Mobile to issue 6.5 when it arrives!
