Vlingo has just entered beta testing. It is a voice control program similar to Microsoft Voice Command but it can do a whole lot more.

Article I saw it in can be found here: http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=4864

Link to the website: http://www.vlingo.com/

has anyone been able to install it? I keep getting "currently not supported on this device" message. I know it says the omnia is supported on their website, think it has to do with winmo 6.5?

tried it on winmo 6.1 and still didn't work so I'm not sure what to do.

It can only be installed to device memory right now. Not My Storage or a storage card.

I think the problem is that it only works on verizon's version of the Omnia(910).

Not according to the site. I checked and it says Verizon and GSM. So the i900 should work too.

Nope, that's where I am stuck. I'm having an email conversation with them. Waiting for their next reply to try and figure it out.

My guess is that it's set to only work with 6.1, and maybe only a specific setup of 6.1, one that can change the main menu button. I've tried changing it to "vlingo" but that only launches the program.

I'm running Bgills WM 6.5 21806 rom... works fine for me. I had to use another Omnia with a stock rom on it though to even get it to download.

But from what I can tell none of the text features work like they do on the Blackberry PLUS version. I also have a BB Storm and it works well on there too.. but its not beta on the BB.

On the WM version if I tell it to text someone it just pulls up the contact card which gives me the text or call options..

Biggest thing I noticed to make the button press work correctly is hold it down till the microphone icon shows on your taskbar. Once it shows talk instantly don't pause your voice.. once you say what you want it to do push the button again so it closes the microphone connection quickly.

sometimes it just doesn't respond correctly at all.. But I haven't tested it much on my other Omnia with WM 6.1. Will let you know later if my results change.

That sounds like Microsoft Voice Command not Vlingo. Vlingo does not show a microphone on the taskbar.

I got the same download error all day yesterday too, tried opera, opera beta, and skyfire to try to download it and it kept saying device not supported...

im on an older wozzers M2D

Thanks for the cab Blazing, im testing it out now... :D

one thing I noticed was their website says "Vlingo's speech recognition accuracy depends on your input.                 Each time you or another beta user speaks to Vlingo, the                 accuracy improves..."

interesting...
