I have downloaded a couple of roms, one w6.5 with manila 2d and the other firmware update, both times I have got an error "PDA device not found, time out error, close device".   I am running virtual XP on windows 7.  I have got samsung modem installed and I can see it in my installed programs list.   The phone is connecting with active sync.

My Device PDA i900DTHJ9, PHONE i900XXHJ1.

Anyone else had this problem n found out how to fix it, please help.

Turn activesync connection settings to Not allow USB connections (Uncheck the box)

Then, the phone has to be COMPLETELY off before you hit detect.. Then turn the phone on.

Buy me a drink if I helped you out. :)

I unchecked the allow usb connection box.

I completely turned the ph off and then turned it on.  And then nothing. It is still waiting for device to connect.

Ditto, also make sure that you have the phone drivers installed. On Vista/Win7, just check Allow USB Connections, and plug in the phone, Windows will download and install the driver automatically.

On XP, you need to install the drivers manually from a CD or download the drivers from the samsung site.

If I don't allow Usb connections it tells me

No PDA Device Found ... close device

No PDA Device Found ... close device

No PDA Device Found ... close device

PDA Device not found.

The ph is set to mass storage.  When I connect my ph to the computer with activesync mode, the pc detects my ph n connects to Windows device manager.  So I am guessing I have the drivers installed for my ph?

Yes, you have the drivers installed. Forget the Mass Storage mode, just leave your phone set to activesync (I never change it).

Unplug your phone, and take the battery out.
Reload UMDL, select the ROM and hit detect
Plug the phone into the USB port
Put the battery into the phone
Turn the phone on

Watch the Flash begin! ;)
