I wondered if it would even boot, and it does.

I've chucked in a compatible WiFi module so WiFi works, but Camera won't, Bluetooth won't and I don't know what else might blow up! :) It's a starting point for an enterprising chef for sure and an interesting exercise. This ROM is using the stock Hero kernel.

Boy oh boy is it FAST...

:)

Looks really ugly on Hero, compared to original ROM.

i tested it (just to see basic android) i saw him running only on emulator, but after this i must admit, hole OS runs much much MUCH smoother then hero firmware, i am one of the guys that catch every frame drop or lag (too much FPS shooters, damn!) so i can really say, this is something different then hero "stock", for example, slide over the wallpaper selector (small thumbnails) its really nice and smooth on original android, try same thing on hero, slide few times to the right to he left, and i guarantee that if u don't see any lag then u probably notice some frame drop and animation wont be as smooth as on original... hero rom is really nice, but i am saying "BOOOOOOOOOOOOO" to the htc optimizations of rosie, it almost feels like phone is doing some nasty caching or some background work and so u get this stupid lags over a basic slide animations...

Looks interesting mate. I'd definitely consider moving over to a more stable but basic ROM if it was good and fast enough..

yeah - I too would love a really fast Hero ROM.  I don't care about eye candy.  I just want usability, stability and speed.
