- EDIT -
Almost fixed, please read the 4th post.

=====================================================
Hi every1,

Im having some issues after updating my hero which I'm not sure off if they're already known.

First I updated my phone with MCR 2.0 without the radio update. After that I had problems reading and receiving sms messages. Opening an sms message freezes on loading. Receiving one only played the alert sound but did not gave any visual updates.

Sometimes, like now, my soft-keyboard just disables itself while typing. I have to re-enable it by clicking the editfield which i was busy with. It's very annoying.

Last but not least, my gTalk is sometimes buggy. I get a notification upon receiving messages and after i click on it the message does not appear in the conversation.

I tried updating my phone with MCR 2.2, after that I installed the latest radio patch. Done all this without wiping tho.

These problems still persist and it annoys me.
Hope some1 can help me with this.

Thanks in advance.
Kozie

I had the SMS "Loading..." issue too (but not the other issues you talk about) after installing MCR2.2e
I did a wipe and it's fine now

I have an odd issue now (which I'llpost about) where the calendar widget says "No appointments today or tomorrow" when I actually have loads, and the reminders don't sound unless I have them appearing on the Notification bar - if I opt for alerts nothing happens.

Hi

A number of us have noted that the keyboard jumps up and down in landscape mode when using the search option in the (default) browser  after upgrading to version 2.0 of the ROM. The problem does not exist if you use the search in the browser in portrait mode.

Are people experiencing these problems in versions 2.1 or 2.2?

I have yet to try it but maybe removing/upgrading the browser and re-installing it might be a solution to the problem? I assume the default browser is Chrome?

Cheers

@chucky.egg
Guess i should try wiping my hero than. I'll try it and let you know if it works.

EDIT
Wiping my phone did worked!! :) i only lost my apps that were installed along the MCR's like the tethering app.
Didn't backupped my apps on purpose because i hadn't much yet.
Is there a simple way to reinstall these apps (like from the market or something) or should i just rerun the update.zip (MCR 2.2) ?

@bedeiros
I'm having it in all apps in portrait mode, haven't used landscape much.

Thanks for the replies.

I get that too with the MCR 2.2e ROM

I'm not sure what the apps are, or where you got them from. If they were in the ROM they should still be there, if not you may be able to pick them out of the ROM ZIP (otherwise re-flash perhaps?)

Guess i'll try to run the update.zip again from the bootloader to reinstall the apps.
Hope it won't reproduce the same issues as before :)

I'll let you know what happened after the "reflash".

Thanks!

The default browser is HTC's own which isn't available in the app store :)

Any suggestions for a mobile browser which supports flash? (i.e. similar to the HTC default)

I reinstalled MCR2.2c after the wipe and everything works as it should. Also got the apps back.

Thanks everyone.

As for the browser, what about opera mini?

Opera Mini - Hated every second of it! And it was only seconds that it remained installed. Personally I wouldn't recommend Opera as it currently is and have yet to find a better browser for the Hero than the HTC one.

Nothin' is easy

What do you mean by 'wipe'?  I am having a problem of not receiving any SMS after applying 2.2.  I would like to 'wipe' also, and then re-apply MCR2.2, but I want to be sure I'm doing the right thing...

thanks.

From the system recovery-console on youre phone, first do a wipe [ Wipe data/factory reset] and the install the update zip. [ Apply sdcard:update.zip]

That should solve the sms-problem

Just doing the wipe solved it for me, then restoring the texts from a mybackup backup.

Hi Everyone!!

I thought i would share some issues i have been having since updating to MCR 2.2.

Data services are not working over most wireless networks anymore, it connects no problem but nothing will work over the wi-fi network. It still works at home, but the one at work and some other open ones i have tried don't work anymore (they worked prior to the update) anyone else have problems with some Wi-fi, before or after update?

Also the alarm seems to be buggy, if i set an alarm to go off every day to wake me up for work, it dont work no more, just does not go off. But if i set the alarm to go off in 5 minutes time to test, it works!!

has anyone experienced this? Would a radio update help with the wifi issue?

Thanks!!!
