Thanks to the latest HTC Leo ROM leaked on to the interwebs recently, I've managed to gleam some new information!

The Leo will ship with Opera 9.7 build 35411.

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\MASD]
 "Opera_Browser"="9_70_35411_0"
By default, it will have PinchAndZoom enabled - yes, it's going to be a multitouch browser. All that rubbish about PIE not supporting it is silly, especially since Opera Mobile is a far better browser.

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Defaults]
 "PinchAndZoomEnable"=dword:00000001
I think it'll also have the ability to restore tabs after closing and reopening, something we have on desktop browsers but that has been missing on our devices.

Also, judging by the VisualBookmarks OEM package, we may well be having visual bookmarks. This might well be linked in with Manila rather than anything else, but it's still pretty cool.

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Prefs\User Prefs]
 "Restore Tab Pages"=dword:00000001
 "Max Window History Thumbnails"=dword:0000000A
 "VisualBackUIThumbnails"=dword:0000000A
 "History Thumbnail Size"=dword:00000080
In the HTCAlbum package, we also find

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\SmartTouch\Album]
 "WheelCount"=dword:00000014
 "Mode"=dword:00000004
 "ClassName"="HTCAlbumClass"
SmartTouch was what controlled the Zoom wheel on the Diamond/Raphael, and was (until some more recent builds) what handled the Zoom Bar on the Topaz.

This may just be a legacy registry key, but we shall see.

In typical HTC style, there are also two 750KB files that do nothing at all, and the calculator is using BMPs rather than PNGs, so takes up 3MB instead of 200-300KB!!!!

At least the ROM leaves a lot of tweaking opportunity... Expect some custom ROMs that are even faster than the current Leo ROMs! :)

If you really want to see that build of opera fly try

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Opera\Info]
"EnableVisualBack"=dword:00000001
"EnableGLES"=dword:00000001
"EnableAnimateRotation"=dword:00000001

it renders faster on any device with libgles support

Surpisingly, the Leo opera package didn't have OpenGL enabled...

My own cab of it does have it, and Opera is definitely the fastest browser!
