Last week, i'd bought a TG01 from Germany ebay, it is a good mobile, i give it to my friend as a birthday present and now i look forward to get another one but in english OS.

When i get into ebay.co.uk, i see many items with a description of "unwanted upgrade", but i have no idea what about it.

Does it means the cellphone cant be upgraded to WM6.5? Anyone knows? Thanks! :)

I would interpret this as meaning that the seller got one as an upgrade from Orange but has decided to sell it instead. It should be upgradeable the same as any other UK TG01...

Yeah agree. Many people just decide to cash in and sell there new upgrade and keep there old phone, hence "unwanted upgrade". Or they decide they don't like it and wanna get something else.

That is the interpretation I'd put on it as well. I got mine as an 'unwanted upgrade' as the user simply wanted to keep his existing phone/contract and raise a bit of cash.

The only downside is that technically, Orange may not honour the warranty, as their operator supplied devices don't have a tranferrable warranty. With Orange, a device is tied to the contract to which it is originally supplied so if there is a problem, the original contract holder may have to arrange a repair/return, which may be difficult with eBay purchases.

I'm not sure how strictly they adhere to this in practice!
