Compaired to my Hero I have Noticed that the 3G icon is off more than it is on, and I never once have seen the H icon, On my Hero the H was mostly on only showing 3G when travelling. These observasions are mostly from being at home.

I dont think there is a "H" icon in Nexus One. that "H" icon comes with Sense UI but not in native android OS.( I think someone else mentioned the same thing somehere else in this forum as well)

The old G1 dont have it either. it only a display difference, shouldnt affect the performance.

Thanks for the info, in that case then it seems that I am not getting as good a reception on the Nexus as I did with the Hero.

HTC DESIRE on 3 (three) Watford UK

But have data connection issues

-87dBm 14asu

Mobile Network Type = Unknown (roaming)

equals gprs data connection and good phone connection

OR if i turn of automatic gsm/wcdma and FORCE it to use WCDMA then i get

113dBm 1asu

Mobile network type HSDPA

but unfortunately it will keep dropping out to no connection.

I don't understand why if it can pick up a good signal and connect to HSDPA, why can't it keep it?

I know this is off topic but can anybody help.

Cheers

3g Performance Issue: Occasionally, when I'm in low-signal areas (basement, parking garage, etc), it will have issues and constantly switch between 3g and edge, so I just turn off 3g, and stay on edge, when I'm in those areas to help battery life. Otherwise, its performance and speeds are great. My network speeds are in my signature, its a large local provider that runs off of the same t-mobile 3g towers..
