It is possible to install a custom rom in the emulator?

Got the same question.

I created an avd for Android 2.1 and downloaded several custom roms. Created an *.img-file with UltraISO and started the avd with: emulator -data hero21 -system customrom.img -sdcard sd.iso

The avd begins to boot but stands still with boottext "ANDROID" and blinking cursor.

Any idea what to do to get custom roms working in the emulator?

Thanks in advance.

try to use: emulator -show-kernel -data hero21 -system customrom.img -sdcard sd.iso : it will show the kernel msg..this way you can find whats stopping the process..

btw the data: hero21 ..is it a folder/img/zip file ??

I have tried myself with custom rom's on android emu 2.1 but service manager crashes.and the system halts.
