The excellent CoPilot Live v8 has recently been updated to include a number of extra features:

CoPilot Live v8.0.0.557 – Changelog
1. Download voices over the air support
2. Text-to-speech support (Premium add-on available this week)
3. Traffic support (Premium add-on available this week)
4. Ability to mute ‘Welcome to CoPilot Live’ speech on start up
5. Fixed late turn instructions issue
6. Improved support for HVGA resolutions
7. Support Premium Live Services and Live services for users on Orange/ Vodafone (which blocks port 80).
8. Improved memory and performance
9. Map data download start, resume and pause functionality in place
10. Safety camera update over the air.
11. Support Australasia maps
12. Save destination upon exit, when user restarts, the route is recalculated to the destination again
13. CSV/ OV2 import working
14. Introduced just ahead warning – to be set by distance or by time before turn
In order to get the update you’ll need to install the latest version of Central v2.0.0.65. This is available to download here. Please follow the instructions on getting the update here.

Note: Update is not currently available for the HTC HD2 :)

edit: It does work on the full version, just not the version that comes bundled with the HD2!
Note: Central v2 is not suitable for the HTC HD2 as a special modified version of CoPilot Live v8 is installed on the ROM of the device.

The Live Traffic and Text-To-Speech (TTS) voice directions sound very useful, and reasonably priced (Premium Live Services are available for £19.99 for 12 months, TTS costs £2.99 for lifetime use)

Let us know how you find these extra features and if there are any more features you would still like to see.

this is great software on the phone, but for a lot of people copilot central doesn't work and you can't update the software though it. just look at copilots facebook page.

It claims to have successfully updated my phone (TP2) to the latest version, but Central and CoPilot both report version 8.0.0.346, not 8.0.0.557.

this is the direct download for WM UPDATE http://www.facebook.com/l/80b32;www.alk.eu....0.557-2577.zip

hope this helps those of you having problems with central for the record copilot central is not work for me on a XP, vista or window 7 for me so the hopes of getting this update through central seem slim

I have installed this on my HTC Snap and the version shows .555 is this correct or have I missed something?

Many thanks for the updates, wouldn't work through Central.

they better get a move on and update the HD2 version, that's all I can say. though I did see something on xda about this and apparently this new version simply lacks pinch to zoom. I could he tempted to give it a go.

I managed to get mine working on HD2, although it is the full version that I used on HTC Diamond before.

Had to use "Add & Remove Programs" to remove it from my PC, then install the new Copilot Central, it then gave me the update and did an OTA map update too.

So now I have version 8.0.0.557 up and running...but no Live Services for the UK yet, only USA traffic is showing :)

I bought the full version the day it was first out, and the copilot central gave me an update to it a couple of weeks back.

Did you just install your copy over/in addition to the version that comes preinstalled on the HD2?

Update now appears in central 2.0 for premium services.

Costs £12.99 / year

Just upgraded Diamond 2

Local search / Traffic / Fuel Prices all working.

Traffic option gives speech warning, not seen any TTS on navigation though ie turn into Modaco Avenue

I'm using my own rom on there so I got rid of the included one.. :)

I've always had trouble updating CoPilot, but this one actually worked for me. I had to install Central which I'd previously ditched as there seemed no point.

One question though - if Safety Camera updates are now OTA, how/where can I see if they've happened?
