HBOOT 0.75 & Apps

Probably a stupid question, but I thought I would ask.

I have a Desire with HBOOT 0.75 (which is rootable), which I have not rooted yet. I assume the only thing that could update my HBOOT to the newer 0.80 (unrootable) version would either be a flash via my computer & HTC Sync, or via an OTA update from my mobile provider and / or HTC? There is no way downloading or updating an app from the market could do it?

I have an unbranded and unlocked Desire on O2 from the carphone warehouse.

Why would you wan't to update your bootloader? I can't see any reason to update it. There won't be any benefits compared to 0.75. The only difference is the possibility to root it with 0.75 which you would loose. Higher numbers aren't always better.

I don't want to update it, I just wanted to make sure I didn't update accidentally!

No market download will update your bootloader, you can be confident about that. :huh:
