Apps Installer on Froyo.....HELP!!!!

Need a little help here. just did a manual upgrade to Froyo couple days ago. loved all the features. but after update, i am not able to run apps installer. everytime i try to run it it says "the application Apps Installer (process com.mmg.appin) has stopped unexpectedly. please try again"

now i cannot install apps from SD Card anymore.

anybody know how to fix that? thanks in advance.

Use Astro File Manager.

tried that and couple different ones. all same result. anybody else is having the same issue??

Do a clean wipe, reinstall OS and use Astro to install apps.

I'm having the same issue on my Froyo FRF50

I think Google has done something to the PackageManager class.

The SDK no longer lists the installPackage method.

The Eclair source code has an @hide annotation on that method so it may have been removed from Froyo.

Hi There,

with no atantion of knowing too much regarding this issue, i can tell u that i have had this problem, it was somthing to do with the old updates that were recognized b4,

so i have cancelled them all one by one from the "strating download"...

then choose to update each that had an update, found out an app, in my case it was "4 in a row" that caused the device to rebot!!!

so i have ininstalled it and since then everything works gr8

hope it will help,

and above all 10x for all the replyeres moders and lets dont forget paul

Hello I have the same problem on my Htc Desire, I tried to install all kind of App Installer but unfortunately it didn't work.. you're right... I think Google removed the package from Froyo. Why they did something like that? ...I cannot believe!!. Did you find any solution on the net? Did you asked Htc customer support to check what is going on ?. Please let me know if something comes up! I will do the same.

hello k9nadav... Are telling me that now you can use App installer on your Android with Froyo? If yes....Can you please explain in the details all the passages. What do you mean that it was something to do with old update . where did you go to cancel them one by one....sorry everything you wrote is vague...( then choose to update each that had an update). ???????. Can you please START from the begining one step at the time and explain for us the procedure.
