Rooting will void your warranty (BUT SO WORTH IT), though you can always unroot if you need to send it in for warranty purposes (assuming it can turn on). Best way would be to install Liquid Community Rom by malez/piter/bruggerman/behnam. A very clean (gets rid of all that Acer bs and only adds light software you could use) custom Eclair ROM. I have been using it for the past 3 weeks since I got my Liquid and it is amazing.
