Ok, it seems like you have to type in the full model name, as in GT540 ANEUBK NEU/EUROPE OPEN otherwise it doesn't work to flash.

Still running into problems, it' won't go past the 4% mark on the update, i.e. it's not started to copy any files

Ok, got it working by using KDZ_FW_UPD, it worked a treat and I'm now on 10D (up from 09K).

Remember that you have to re-root it once you've upgraded the firmware.

Whats the difference between V10A and V10D? Do I have to reinstall all my apps if I upgrade?

Supposedly some bug fixes and I don't think you should have to re-install your apps.
I had 09K on mine at it seems a lot more stable with the new firmware, as I suffered from some random lock-ups with the old firmware.

What version of Windows did you use, Windows7 running KDZ FW UPD shut the
application.

I have the V10D firmware, but... I can't get it onto the phone.

I tried LG-Utils, but that failed (as other people have said). I found a version of KDZ_FW_UPD, but a) it's not in English, and it doesn't seem to work (the only button I can press is '?????' at the bottom, which is 'close')

I also had to look around for LG PC Suite 3 (it didn't come with my phone?)

Anyway, if you could give me some tips -- I'd really like to get some new firmware onto my GT540

I use windows 7 64-bit and I didn't have any problems using KDZ_FW_UPD, the other way just didn't work at all for me, as I got stuck at 4% and then got a communication error.

Ah-hah. Either way, I ran the LG 'update software' (the stuff that came with the phone) and it said my phone was still up-to-date...!

No, it's B2CNotiAgent and LGUserCSTool.

I have stuff like KDZ_FW_UPD and KP500-Utils-EN, but no B2Cappsetup... I think

I had to use windows button enabler to make KDZ_FW_UPD work, though I think I may need the correct .dlls in the same folder

that did it, had kdz in same place as dlls, now on v10d.

just done a factory reset, seems a lot faster, layar has been removed from rom, no more preset apns either

havent been able to get it yet, 4pda.ru have found a v10f firmware available, but cant get it to download, and they've found fastboot, but google translate says, phone off, stifle, camera button, insert usb cable.
