Phone reboots at random when using camera

Sometimes when I start to use my camera, either with the camera feature, or Footprint feature, my Hero reboots. Sometimes it's working as it should, and sometimes it reboots the second I start the camera.

I figured it might have something to do with the 3D Gallery. Uninstalled that. Didn't seem to help. I've uninstalled the FX Camera as well, to no avail. Every now and then it reboots when I try to use the camera. Only then. Otherwise it's great.

Using 2.1 R5 with the newest (.14) radio. I can't seem to find why the camera triggers the reboot.

Any ideas? It's really annoying! :)

Edit: Typo

I tried to bake a new rom, wipe everything, and still the camera randomly reboots the phone. So it's either my phone that has a problem with 2.1, or the it's an issue with the R5 2.1 rom that my phone don't like.

Haven't tried another rom though. Just Modaco R5 2.1 rom. I'm really happy with that rom, except for the randomly reboot bug.

Anyone got any ideas?

If I'm to try another rom, is there a rom close to Modacos R5, that I can install? So I don't have to repartition my SD card.

ChocolateEclair 2.0 was great. It didn't solve my problem though.. After upgrading from 1.5 to 2.1, my phone still reboots at random when I use my camera.

Guess my handset really doesn't like 2.1.. Any ideas anyone?

In my case, it seems like the power management is the reason for my phone rebooting at random when I start the camera. I can trigger the reboot almost every time by adjusting the light brightness on the power management widget, and then start my camera. Do this one or two times, makes the phone reboot the next time I start the camera.

That's the problem on my phone. It reboots whenever the brightness is set to max, if I trigger the camera at that point. Except the first time after reboot, and not if I'm charging my phone.

I've contacted HTC and I'm sending in the phone for repair. :/ Hate to part with my phone for 2-3 weeks, but I'd rather have a fully working phone.

Seems like a change of mainboard had to be made. Hardware fault. Working now, but had to send it in (twice), for them to fix it.

Case closed it seems. Hoping the error don't return :P

The problem on my phone wasn't that it was terrible. The phone rebooted at random when using it.

Regarding the best rom, it depends on what version of Android you want, Sense or Vanilla and if you got GSM or CDMA Hero. And usually people prefer different kind of roms. You should look in another thread regarding this.
