Interesting you are asking about buying advice for an iphone but your signature (now removed) stated you were already using iphone chargers?
Looks almost like passive spamming.
As for the difference between the 3GS or the iphone 4 then technically as long as you are not lefthanded the 4 should be the better device.
Personally I would never buy either as I do not like the overcontrolling Apple empire.
