Can't find my contacts...

Hello guys,

Has anybody ever experienced that it is impossible to save any contacts, or at least they are not listed in the CONTACTS menu after saving them into my Mini?

It is the same with synchronization... The process is done all right with PC Suite from Outlook, no error, but not even a tiny little contact is in my contacts list after that.

My only guess is that I have changed or missed to change some kind of setting that has an effect on what can be seen in the contacts list.

Any ideas?... All solutions are appreciated...

Thnx,

crusader

ok, guess what... I have all my contacts in my Pulse Mini.

Let me tell the procedure, but don't blame me if it has no logic at all...

1. I exported all my contacts from my old Sony Ericsson K800i into a vCard file (*.vcf) with MyPhoneExplorer.

2. I tried to import it to my Pulse Mini from an SD card at least 10times with no success.

3. I imported the contacts to MS Outlook and tried to send them to the Mini trhough PC Suite, but no success.

4. I decided to create a gmail account into which I imported only one contact from a vCard file what I made with PC Suite. I just wanted to take a try whether I can import this one contact to the Pulse through synchronising it with my gmail account and it worked!!! After one week of continuous trying I had a contact in my phone!!! ;)

5. I planned to feed all my contacts manually into gmail and then sync it with the mini, but - I don't really know why - I just tried again to import the vCard file mentioned at the beginning from the SD card again.

6. What a surprise: after having tried this method 10 times it worked the 11th time, so I have all my contacts in my Pulse Mini. Though the whole procedure was a pain in the ass, I am happy now.

Don't ask me why it worked this time, maybe the guys who worked so hard on this rom can tell the reason. The only thing I can imagine is that what I did in point 4 changed something in the system.

Anyway, I can call my contacts now, and hopefully I'll never have to go through this torture again. :D

Cheers,

thats why i use r3 and not r3b :D just imported the vCard file i exported on previous phone.

And here comes the proof that the synchronisation of one contact from gmail with the Mini has much to do with the fact that I could easily import all my contact from a single vCard file on my SD card:

though it is not true at all, when opening any of my contacts to edit, all of them says at the top of the screen that "Google contact from [email protected]"

Try my method if you experience the same problem folks!!!
