Welcome to 'Paul's App of the Day', where I pick one of my favourite apps as featured app of the day! Today's app is...

Remote Notifier

What they say

Quote

See phone notifications, such as phone ring, SMS and low battery, on the screen of your Mac with Growl (Linux soon).
Useful, for instance, to not miss calls when using headphones.

See http://code.google.c...droid-notifier/ for instructions and desktop downloads.
What we say

This is so cool! Simply put, it's notifications from your phone displayed on your PC. Phone in your pocket / bag / upstairs? No problem, don't miss what's happening on your device!± :P

Check out this page for Linux and Windows clients.

Thanks @PetrFaitl for the heads up!

This sounds like a perfect idea for Android -> Cloud.

So you get a notification on your PC when you have an incoming event (sms/phone call etc.)

Definitely an idea for the future when it's less tied by IP address...

How did you get it working? I sent out notifications, but my Windows client doesn't seem to receive them.

I'm using this over the internet to my iMac btw, so I don't even need WiFi or BT on for it to work. :P

I've developed a similar app, Notify Pro, but it uses notify.io to send your notifications instead it's a pay app, but it doesn't rely on an IP anymore.

I didn't know there was a Growl for anything! Nothing better than finding something you didn't think you needed then a while later realising that you can't do without!

If you are still having, problems, check this thread in the issues section:

http://code.google.c...detail?id=43#c0

Actually, that will only help with Growl, are you not getting any notifications in the "Android Notifier" client?
