Hi vinokirk

If there wasn't the Streak this Desire HD would be my device of choice but as there is the Streak there is no way i would swap mine for it i just prefer my Streak even though it looks beautiful and has great build materials I'll be sticking with my Streak. Now as for the HD7 besides the fact i don't like WP7 and its tiles look those things listed in its spec just aren't available yet so don't think it will launch when they say it will but again i wouldn't swap my Streak for it either.

Quality vs display size?

I choose quality -> HTC

If Dell somehow learns to build devices with displays who don't break into 1000 pieces after falling once from 1m to the floor, if they learn how to make quality devices and not cheap china stuff, then I will buy one again.

Haven't had such a cheap made device for a long time. HTC knows how to build quality (even on devices with plastic bodies).

if the Streak didn't exist I'd have my eye open for the European EVO or Droid X (both 4.3" I believe) - I think the the Desire HD is that regional EVO.

now I'm used to the 5" screen, do a lot of reading - I wouldn't want to go smaller - I want to keep the same device size as the Streak but have the screen bezel-less (i'm sure it will become technically possible one day ...)

i haven't had any issues so far with build quality, though I do tend to treat all my expensive kit with kid gloves as much as possible. my Streak has developed a single dead pixel which irks me - but also gives me an excuse to upgrade in 6 or 12 months ;-)

HTC burned me with lacklustre components in the Nexus One/Desire - the multitouch crossover bug due to crappy capacitive component and also rubbish audio quality and also a very quiet phone. the Streak has none of these issues, and it's the loudest phone I've owned (iPhone 3G, Nexus One, Galaxy S i9000, Streak). it's the droid i have been looking for, the 5" screen plus pocketability is the killer app for me.

I love my streak, but the thing is, I love HTC Sense too. No matter what I do, I still miss it. my girlfriend has the regular desire, and her phone is awesome. the screen is too small, but the headphone jack is located at a spot which is 'normal'! on my streak, the headphone jack gets torn out all the time. the streak doesn't have a normal usb port, the desire does.

thankfully, my contract runs at its end in january, and I can upgrade 4 months in advance. meaning: THE DESIRE HD IS MINNEEEEE!!!!! *evil laughter*

ps: the HD7 specs they list there, are so full of imagination. a 1.5ghz processor? those things aren't even massivly available...

Agreed with the HD7 specs. I think someones dreming there. I think it is the a regional variation (of sorts) of the Evo. I personally am a bit of a Microsoft fanboy(but not IE, that sucks ass), so would love to get my hand on a 4"+ WP7 device.

I won't trade the streak for anything though I wish it had narrower bezel.

I still think the HTC touch HD2 has the best looking face. I would love to buy an enlarged version with 5 inch screen and android.

id get rid of my streak the moment the hd7 comes out if the specs are what it says. our screen is not 5", its more like 4.75" measured from the two farthest pixels so i dont think 4.5" is too bad. plus, windows phone 7 looks to be a great gamer phone unlike streak which cant even run nova.

I will also most likely get the HD7 when its out.

I have about 95% confidence in those specs tho! And if it does have those specs itll be about £900!
