Hi all,

I have my GT540 for about 3 week now. Everything seems fine, update to 2.1 went smooth..

However there is one thing that I feel frustrated is my battery.

It run out within 1 day no matter whatever I do with the phone.

Even if I left it out overnight, it still went from 70% to 40% :P

I turned off GPS, Wifi and Bluetooth all the time

How much battery time you get from your GT540 ?

I'm thinking that my battery is faulty :|

Any other advice is appreciated :D

You can try turn your brightness settings down.

I had mine at 10% adn while not that bright does kind of save some battery.

I always feel that even left unattended the battery drains quick. Maybe set up a profile with Tasker or SetCpu to turn off or down certain things when this is happening.

If you have 3g on then maybe some applications are using the connection. 3g is known to drain the battery.

try brightness at 10% also turn off 3g when u dont need it and install apllication killer to exit all applications. my batterry last more than 1 day with 4 hours music 2-3 hours msn and browsing . thats good for a phone battery.

My battery lasts at least 2 days, overnight in idle it doesn't even go down 10%. I always keep the Data Connection off when I don't use it. 3G data plus some badly written app can kill your battery quickly.

I speak on the phone an average of 90 minutes a day, and send/receive approx 50 texts a day.

i play some games approx 15 minutes a day, and by midnight my phone is at approx 30%.

r u using Live Wallpaper by any chance? cause when i had this on my phone it would not last the day.BTW my Bluetooth, WiFi, are on all the time.

3G and Gps off.

What really helps, is Advanced Task Killer Free. Download it from the market.

Set the auto-kill level to Safe, and interval to "When screen off". Also, add alarm to ignore list.

Overnight, my battery only goes like 2 % off, and when surfing 1 hour on wifi, it only goes down by 20 %.

It is not known whether task killers are a good thing for Android devices really...

You don't need one really, I get adequate battery life and run Trillian and facebook all day on my handset? On 1.6 it wasn't great, but I manage a day now.

Android shouldn't need a task killer...just because it's in the memory doesn't mean it's using the battery as it's idle.
