I understand provider-specific ROMs will be slower, but my phone was bought sim-free and says XEU, so I thought maybe official update would work. Phone revision is I9000XXJF3 on a GT-I9000HKDXEU. Kies just says "Firmware update is available", then I click it and it says "This firmware can not be updated." Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest cdcuk Posted November 7, 2010 Report Share Posted November 7, 2010 It worked for me yesterday (I'm on T-mobile) -- I installed Kies on a friend's windows box specially, so I had the latest version of that. Never used Kies before but (other than the horrendously long time it took to install), all went smoothly. Only (very minor) quibble is that I need to restore my homescreen layout now. It said "Firmware update available", so I clicked "Update" and after a few caution windows, it download and installed OK.
