Does coarse location work in this 2.2 rom?

Hi Fibble,

thanks for all your hard work putting together this ROM for us, I'll test this out when I get home from work tonight! One question with FroYo would it be possible to include the Flash Lite plugin that is currently included in the 2.1 French Fries ROM? I realise the San Fran only has an ARM V6 CPU but flash lite runs. I don't know if there is a method for using this plugin in the browser but if it was possible then this would be a great addition to your ROM and almost create the full FroYo experience that a lot of people are looking for. Just an idea... thanks again for all the hard work!!!

John

I just flashed this rom and I'm having trouble to set-up my google account.
it gives me a "Can't establish a reliable data connection to the server" error.
Market, gmail, etc doesn't work. Does anyone knows a fix for this?

Thank!

Read the first post . When it can't connect, just turn off the phone, turn on again, and skip setting up an account - just go into Accounts and Sync and add manually in there, and it should work.

Nice to see a new 2.2 ROM, it's good to have competition

Does this ROM fix the Calendar 'crash' issue?

I didn't even have to do anything after reboot... I skipped the setup (for the 2nd attempt after rebooting the phone once) and there I had my G-account being set up correctly.

(Why can't people read the very first post thoroughly?!?!   )

Question: if I add another Dialer app from Market - how can I prevent the original one from starting up again?

cheers for another great rom. i also made the switch over from the pulse!

I am on a mac, and I find that whenever I delete any of the system apps and recompress the zip that it will not install. It begins the instalation and then suddenly stops, without even showing an error message. (Installing in recovery).
I find I am only able to install the download as is.
Any advice?

EDIT: Also titanium backup is hanging at 'asking for root rights...'

I tried to do this with the 2.2 Alpha Rom and replace it with Dialer One; I just deleted the ZTE dialer in /system/app/SmartDialer.apk using a su in a terminal emulator.

But the dialer process still showed up in OSMonitor and in the battery useage list

Do a Fctory Reset and make sure that your first connection to Goggle server is via 3G/GPRS only and not Wifi... So reset, get into phone, enable celluar data connection and then do the sync.

Did you reboot after removing it?

Yep, I rebooted a couple of times. I assume that both the ZTE dialer and Dialer One (in fact all other dialers) probably use the same underlying system dialer process and that something in the kernal is triggering the dialer to fire-up, so just changing the dialer has no effect.

The only thing that doesn't work, which is common to all Blade 2.2 ROMs, is the lack of coarse based positioning (useful for things like weather apps - e.g. FancyWidget), and we're not going to be able to fix this, until we have kernel source (I understand from reading the posts on XDA regarding fixing coarse based positioning).

You could dump your ROM before flash it

Maybe there are some updated bits in the Sweedish version.

Any news on whether the dialer still eats all the battery or not with this froyo ROM?
