Send/Receive MMS

After my Optimus crashed I re-flashed, applied app2sd and rooted again. Now the last thing is to get the MMS working? I fluked it last time but no luck this time. What I want is MMS to work but not the mobile network (don't need it), all my internet is done via wifi. If mobile network is on and I forget to turn it off, it connects to the internet randomly which is using my Optus account which I don't want.

I had it all setup before the crash and worked great, but what ever I try now fails, can't even get MMS to run, can someone please put me out of my misery and tell me what to do.

Thanks

Wow 37 views and no suggestions?

This may help, when I try to send a test MMS to myself after clicking send I get on the right hand side of picture an envelope with a red clock face on it. Nothing else happens.

Please someone help me, I am expecting mms from my daughter.

MMS utilizes your phone data connection, Wifi isn't an option for this functionality. Sorry, but that's just how mobile phones work! Turned off data equals no MMS functionality.

I realize that but there is a way of stopping it connecting to the internet whenever it feels like, I had that setup before the crash but forgotten how to do it again. Also even with it on I still fail to send mms (see my previous post.

you have to have your carriers APN and details, then you need another APN with the MMS settings. You need to name this APN "MMS"

Have that all setup and correct. Can send ordinary text messages but on the picture mms I get the envelope with red clock, have read that icon refers to pending! but nothing happens on mine.

O.K. After reading about 100 postings on internet relating to this problem I have managed to get MMS to work of sorts, what I did was.

1) Install APN Backup and Restore from the Market (free)

2) Run the App and select Backup. Name the file: apns-broken.xml (or anything you like).

3) Plug Incredible into USB (or remove card) and copy the file on your phone's sdcard from folder called APNBackupRestore to your pc.

4) Open the file on your pc in a text editor such as notepad.

5) Deleted all the entries, and replaced with:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes' ?>

<apns>

<apn name="Production" numeric="00000" mcc="000" mnc="00" apn="1" user="null" server="null" password="null" proxy="null" port="null" mmsproxy="null" mmsport="null" mmsprotocol="2.0" mmsc="http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms" type="mms" />

</apns>

6) Save the edited file as: apns-fixed.xml

7) Verify your can see the file extension of the file as .xml

8) Copy the file back to your sdcard into the same folder called APNBackupRestore.

9) Run APN Backup again and click Restore. Select the file to restore: apns-fixed.xml - When prompted to search for all instances, answer: NO

10) Unplug your phone from USB and reboot your phone.

I now find if I open messaging, enter to who/phone no., select picture click send I get the envelope with clock. But if I then type to compose and then send again it gets sent? The 1st sending (with clock) still is there but not sent.

I know it's not fixed properly but it's a start and maybe the guru's here may be able to tell me the correct fix.

Thanks,
