I've just used the file explorer and I don't seem to have anything on my Sd card and some of the applications just sit there saying they are waiting for the SD card to come available. Any ideas?

If I revert back to the 1.04 software update will it also re-write the SD card?

If not is there a kind soul out there who can provide me with an image of the sd card in zip format?

cheers all

SD cards dont get wiped unless you actually say wipe them ....

It probably hasn't remounted after you plugged your Vega in .. Just go to Settings and choose 'Mount SD Card' ...

There isn't anything 'important' on the SD card, unless you put something on there like pictures, MP3's etc... Worst case you have to re-install some apps ...

You don't need anything on it specifically although I copied a backup of my 4Gb card onto my PC and transferred it over. If you read the other thread on SD cards it has some useful information including how I solved some of the issues I have had with my 16Gb microSD acting up.

looks like the micro sd card is faulty, borrowed a mem card from the kids and works ok. tried to reformat it no go and then tried via digital camera and it says the memory card is faulty. oh well

Not necessarily microSD cards can have a lot of things on them that prevent them from being formatted properly so when you try to do it you end up making it so most programs can't. If nothing works try Ubuntus disk utility its probably one of the more robust use it to wipe it and create a master partition in FAT32 on the resulting free space. That was how I got mine too work as linux combines the smarts that phones and cameras lack with the ability to ignore things it finds irrelevant that stop windows from doing the job.

Definitely worth another go it took me a couple tries till I found the right way to do it. But it might actually be faulty hopefully advent or whatever of the stores you bought it from can help. It should be easy enough to get it fixed they will probably just send you a new card.

After getting shunting from various departments I finally got thru to the right department to be told that she would have to speak to head office and that she would get back to me within 72 hours (!!!!!!!)

I've now gone out and replaced it for under a fiver (maybe I should have ordered a bigger one....). surely it would have been easier to just send me a new one straightaway, the administrative costs alone will be more than what I've paid for a new one.

Obviously I still want a replacement but I now have a spare.
