Hi all,

I installed the MoDaCo Froyo r7 rom on my UK Orange San Fran yesterday and I'm having a lot of WiFi problems that I wasn't having with the stock Orange 2.1 ROM.  I can't get it to connect to the work router at all despite cycling the router and re-entering the key. I have to force it to connect and then it just sits obtaining IP address.

Is this a known issue?  Is there a 2.2 ROM with more stable WiFi (later kitchen releases have had WiFi fixes but I only have access to the prebake) or would I be better reverting to a de-Orangated 2.1 ROM?

Cheers

yh i am using the same rom on my orange san fran and i had no probs but now the latest one is modaco rom r11 which is really good and stable

Hi, I managed to install the CyanogenMod for Blade - 7.0.0 RC1 but I found a little problem: When I end a call the screen turns off and not want go on again, but I have to restart the Blade ... has anyone had the same problem? thanks

I had the same problem, it appears there are still a lot of improvements and need to fix a lot of bugs for the RC1 so I wouldn't use it for my daily bases, lets say I'm trying to give a miss call to my dad, and the screen turns off therefore I can't end the call so its going to drain away all my credit, so that's one of the main reason I am not using the cynogenmod at the moment, but otherwise cynogenmod is amazing, and much faster then most other roms out there, scoring 1100+ on quadrant, and stagefright has been fixed in 2.3 gingerbread.

Thought the latest one was r12... which is much better than r11.

Hi, I'll admit to being a newbie,
I was wondering if the official Froyo 2.2 for ZTE Blade on the ZTE Website release has been used and found okay?

http://support.zte.c...px?type=service

Would like some speed increase on my phone but if there is a better modded version available I would probably use that instead?  What would you recommed.  Thanx in advance.

The packages (source code) you have linked to, is the source code for the Kernel for the BLADE.

The Kernel sits in the Boot partition of the Phone, it starts up then the Android system starts (from the System Partition)

The code that ZTE have released is just for the 2.2 Kernel - its is very good of them to release such a gem of information and makes ROM development much much better.

However without the ROM (android ROM) that goes with t he Kernel, the only Package (Boot and System) that you can install are the ROMS listed in the first Post.

This is not such a bad thing.  The underlying Kernel (if you pick a ROM that says Source in the table) is built from the code that ZTE Released.

The ROM (android ROM) is the product of a lot of work by the developer(s) who have produced it.

You need to edit the FLB Froyo link because that thread is closed. Should be FLB-Froyo G2 for ZTE Blade (r10b)
[EDIT] maybe not that thread doesn't have a change log.

Current phones:

San Francisco Pretty much dead.
Atrix my beautiful atrix!
HTC Desire don't like it, it's sitting in a draw.

Yeh I almost did do that - until I noticed that there is no DL link etc on the supporting thread.

Victor didn't create CM7. Tom G and HCDR.Jacob did.

It's stock launcher is ADW and later nightlies can be overclocked.

The Honeycomb rom needs some love on this page. With adequate warnings regarding feture incompleteness etc

ZTE Blade TFT Stock 2.1 > CM7 > [GEN1>GEN2] > Ginger Stir Fry 9 > Blue Ginger V2 > [GEN2 > GEN3] > CM9 Alpha 5 > Simple Stir Fry Lite b27 > CM9 ColdFusion 26/02/12 | Clockwork 5.0.2.0
ZTE Blade OLED Stock 2.1 > JJ RLS5 > CM7 RC1 > Ippe H's Honeycomb A5 > Finnish Fillyjonk RLS6 > CM7 RC1 > Stock 2.1 | Clockwork 2.5.1.8 > 3.0.0.5
ZTE Blade TFT Stock 2.1 > MCR r3 | Clockwork 2.5.1.3 (Replaced)

T-Mobile Pulse (Lots) > FLB2 > CM7 > CM6.1, Clockwork Recovery

Hello,

I have ordered an Orange SF grey from CPW and awaiting delivery. I am keen on installing a custom ROM on my OSF. I am inclined toward the 2.2 or 2.3 versions. I request the experts to recommend a good and stable ROM of 2.2 or 2.3 version which work well on OSF without WIFI, 3G or call drops and maintain good battery life.

Looking forward to your recommendation and guidance.\

Cheers!

Tan

What's CPW? I heard FLB Froyo is quite stable.
