Symbian is not open source (not any more anyway), has no support for our hardware (Nokia never liked Qualcomm, used TI OMAP chipsets instead), and such. Symbian is a slow operating system on Nokia Devices, why would you want it on a Android Phone. Android is 100 times better. Guest isambard Posted March 1, 2011 Report Share Posted March 1, 2011 actually, i don't think symbian is a bad OS. in many ways it is a better phone than the blade (i came from an E71). i think the main problem was that they had a poor developer ecosystem and app delivery platform. the battery life was amazing and ergonomics of a keyboard based UI is great. i'm actually considering going for an android tablet for more tablet based activities and back to the E71 for a phone and light browsing/email. Sure it only does calls and texts - but it lasts a week on battery with light usage! Wouldnt use it day-to-day as i like checking up on facebook, downloading books, using maps etc. But I'm normally not more than 12 hours on the go without plugging it in so its not an issue.
