"Wikipedia in factual inaccuracies non-shock!"

There are a good few errors in the piece which I'm sure will be ironed out with time

God bless the wisdom of crowds!

Wikipedia says whatever the last person to edit it said.

It is however useful to look at any authoritative citations given.

As reported and linked *here*, Dell have been advertising 'their' Blade with 2.2

While "truth in advertising" might be a loose concept in India, this does seem to be a change in their advertising.

The thing that concerns me is that the Dell product is listed with 256mb ram.

This sounds rather like the Chinese-spec V880.

AFAIK, it wouldn't be unknown for Dell to change the content of the package (perhaps Blade to V880) while keeping the product's "marketing identity" unchanged...

Lets hope that's not what is happening.

I am certainly not ruling out product appearing somewhere in the world with 2.2, but neither am I expecting that existing vendors (like Orange) would offer a free software upgrade.

But if a real Blade (ie not V880/003z, etc) 2.2 product appears anywhere, worldwide, I have high hopes that 'enthusiast distribution' will ensure that it is available for all Blade owners to "share and enjoy".

Comviq/Tele2 Blade, from Sweden... 2.2 officially!

Comviq/Tele2 Blade, from Sweden... 2.2 officially!

Yes its Wednesday.

And when I spotted KK's thread (started 4 hours after my post), I did allow myself a little (and wry) smile when I saw that the Swedish 2.2 is indeed actually based on the "V880" memory map ...

... so we STILL don't have a production 2.2 Kernel for the 'real' Blade (with the original memory map) that we know and (sometimes) love.

What would be fantastic would be to have the Swedish (or Indian) updater program or TPT-style flashable image to sort our original-layout Blades to the current layout ...
