*** Installation ***

- Put the downloaded bootanimation.zip and your adb.exe in the same directory in Windows

- Boot your tablet normally

- Ensure you have Slave mode and USB debugging enabled on your device (enabled in Settings->Applications->Development)

- Connect your tablet to PC

- At a command prompt / terminal, ensure you are in the directory you extracted the files

- Type:

adb shell stop

adb remount

adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/

adb reboot

- Have Fun :D

If you notice the flash on your tablet screen after the animation try to upload the bootanimation.zip one more time.

I think it is the nature of the tablet and not the animation itself.

*** Update ***

30.03.2011

Once again all boot animations have been updated. Now it does not allow your tablet to show

artifacts on top and on the bottom of the screen.

28.03.2011

All boot animations have been updated. Now runs really smooth and takes 70% less space.

27.03.2011

This is brilliant, many thanks. What are the dimensions and can I make a custom one myself? Any chance you can post a few more different ones? Sorry for the million questions.

Hold up!! You mean we can just copy and paste into the "/data/local/" directory via something like ifilemanager? No need to adb and command prompt?

...you know cos' that would be loads easier...........or am I missing something here?

Yes but you need to use a file explorer that can have write access to the root drive like root explorer.

or you could use the very useful vega tools just point and click :D

Since that wasn't the first method suggested even by the thread author then I don't beleive you it can be that easy. There must be a catch to the Vega tools, maybe it works on certain roms only, or kernels. People seem to like comand prompt than point and click tools. :D

perhaps not i am certainly not that technically minded to argue, but i have changed my boot animation three times using vegatools and yes i do just point and click and it does all teh hardwork. It even has the honeycomb boot anim as a default so you dont even have to do the pointing bit , just click! :D

I am not sure what are the vega tools are (software update menu? ) but tried it & rebooted into clockmod menu so maybe the two are not compatible :D

But used connectbot to cp the zip file. Worked a treat.

Boot anim is slick by the way.

Cheers

Yes but you need to use a file explorer that can have write access to the root drive like root explorer.

Do you simply copy the boot animation zip file to local/data? Do you unzip it first? Does it have to be called a special file name?

If you have vegatools just download the zip to your desktop and run install bootanimation..... simples :o otherwise you need a root explorer that can replace the original in local/data with your chosen one. Lukasz has set them to download as bootanimation.zip which is the right name

Sorry vipasoft didn't notice you had also answered

I have all the required frames to make this into a custom bootanimation :

Untitled-2.gif

But I can't get it to work.

If I upload the frames into a zip file, could you work your magic with it?

( I'd like the last frame to remain there for a while, so it doesn't start all over again )

Thanks!
