FIXED

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys,

I uploaded a backup of stock Eclair for all of you who want to go back to a stock Android 2.1 ROM. It's European Open with fastboot. Click here to get the download!

Note: you can flash this ROM only with recovery. ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.8 is recommended.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to go back to 2.1:

1. Download and the file and copy it to the root of your SD card (don't rename it, because the installation might fail)

2. Boot in recovery, go to "install zip from sd card", then "choose zip from sd card"(or something similar)

3. Wait for a couple of minutes

Tip: you don't have to do a factory reset before flashing, because this ROM automatically does it for you.

Note: you can flash this ROM with fastboot, not with recovery.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

How to go back to 2.1:

1. Download and extract the file (you'll see system.img and boot.img)

2. Put the two files in the same folder where your fastboot file is

3. Boot your phone in fastboot mode

4. Connect it to the computer

5. Head over to the destination where your fastboot files are (cd YOURDESTINATION)

6. Type in order:

fastboot -w

fastboot erase system

fastboot erase boot

fastboot flash system system.img

fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot -w (just to make sure)

fastboot reboot

It's also a good idea to install ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.x.x.

Hey , I have a big problem ,

I've followed your steps but when flashing system.img it throws back an error :FAILED (remote: data too large):

Is there any way you can reduce the image size? it won't fit on my phone :)

I can't do that, because if I remove something, maybe the ROM will crash. It's LG's fault for making the ROM so big, sorry.

Oh , Is there any way you could make a clockworkmod recovery for us ? It would need to be 2.5.0.5 or similar...

Thanks in advance

There is already a ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.1.8. Here's the download: http://www.mediafire.com/?hl44m6pqzx8s27n

By the way, I'm going to try the ROM myself this evening. Theoretically, it's possible to install it because the /system/ partition is 244MB, and the system.img is 230MB.

I've fixed the problem. Now the ROM can be installed with recovery. I tried with 2.5.1.8 and it works! Now I'm waiting for it to be uploaded.

I have just finished creating a backup of LG's 2.1 Carphone Warehouse UK Rom , I used despotovski01's (or his brothers) Russian rom , the Europe Open rom and used the LG Software updater to update it :) I cannot upload it right this second as I have to figure out a way to remove my contacts... hmm
