Hi, I'm have trouble rooting my htc desire. From what I've read I need unrevoked, which should install clockwork mod. I have tried this but no luck. In the end i basically want cyanogen mod 7 installed.

It has HBOOT 0.93.0001 which i think doesn't help

Any ideas?

That HBOOT works fine, I have it and am rooted. What error(s) are you seeing when you try using unrEVOked?

HTC One X (S720e)
ROM: 1.29.401.11 (IML74K)
HBOOT: 0.95.0000 SHIP S-ON
Recovery: Stock
Radio: 1.1204.105.14

When I load unrvoced it says "waiting for device to connect"

I don't think the ADB driver is installed properly. When the phone is plugged in it trys to find new driver. In the device manager, the properties of the ADB is "This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)" theres an exclamation mark on the icon in the device list too. I'm running xp by the way

It is a driver issue, this is what I did to root:

1. Install HTC Sync
2. Uninstall HTC Sync but leave the HTC Drivers package in Add/Remove Programs
3. Boot the phone into HBOOT and then connect to the PC to make sure the driver is installed correctly
4. Disconnect the phone and start unrEVOked
5. Make sure the phone is set to 'USB Debugging'
6. Connect phone to PC

It should connect and work, might be worth tracking down unrEVOked 3.21 if you're still having issues as this helps for some people

That worked up to a point. Now it says: "Internal error: failed to unlock NAND flash?" Any ideas?

Hi,

What's your device show up as in Device Manager? You might want to load the fastboot drivers from the unrevoked site even though they are 'older' than the htc sync ones.

hTC Desire
Carrier: T-Mobile UK
Screen: SLCD
ROM: CM7.2.0-RC1-KANG
Kernel: Original
HBOOT: CM7r2 Alpharev
Radio: 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
Recovery: Clockwork Mod 2.5.0.7
Favourite ROMS: Alex-V (Standard), CM7, MIUI-XJ
