Guest Sascha Volkenandt Posted April 26, 2011 Report Share Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) I'd like to know how to customize the system applications, for example the LG Contacts.apk. I've found several threads which suggest that it is possible, since there are alternate APKs out there. My problem is, whenever I modify Contacts.apk (simplest possible: replacing a PNG within the original Contacts.apk with WinRAR, without compressing) and push the modified version to /system/app, the contacts app doesn't start anymore. adb logtrace output doesn't show any failures. Even re-signing the modified apk with a test key doesn't help. When I push the original apk back in place, it works again. I even tried removing, rebooting and pushing the modified apk, still no success. I am using LG Optimus 2X with MoDaCo FR12. Any ideas? EDIT: Never mind, it is working now.
