HTC Desire RAM corruption?

Righto This is the situation....

I left my phone on the roof of my wife's car whilst belting the kids in...Wife drives off, phone falls off roof...lost phone...get phone back later that night due to good Samaritan and one case of beer.... Phone screen is smashed.... Buy LCD and touchscreen off E-bay in hope that is all that is wrong... Replace screen successfully as its pretty straight forward when you watch the tute on you tube.

Initially the phone would start but not get past the "Telstra next G" boot screen, So I know the screen works....

After doing a hard boot it loads and phone works perfectly score - Me 1 phone 0

That was on Fri, after bragging all weekend to my mates how I saved x dollars by doing it myself the phone turns off and goes into a boot loop - Me 1 Phone 1

Sunday I do a Factory reset and reboot through the droid recovery menu - power+vol down etc: Phone boots but I have lost everything - Me 2 Phone 2

Now the phone takes about 4 mins to boot, and goes into a blank coma for around 4 mins when a txt mesage comes in, I initially thought it was turning off but It comes back to life it left alone. ME 2 PHONE 3.

I am a newbie at all this but dont mind having a go.

I thought I might need to Root and Reflash the ROM????

SO I tried using Unrevoked and following all steps but it wont do anything as it seems not to recognise the phone? I have never done this before but since I voided the warranty by doing the screen replacement, (well it was probably voided when it fell off the car onto the road really!!) I thought why not- as a corrupted ROM could be the issue?

I now think through the extended boot times and shut downs it might be a RAM issue?

When you go to the Hardboot menu(power + Vol down) It briefly flashes a checklst/rundown with corresponding error messages, it is too quick to copy but I have seen similar on other forums?

I have 12 months to go before my contract finishes and cant afford/wife wont let me buy a new desire.

Does anyone have a fix for me?

Much appreciated

Tim
