Guest That-Guy
Just wondering what the Wireless is like on the U8800? I have a ZTE Blade at the moment and is well known for its wifi problems, for example not re-connecting to wireless after sleep. Just making sure this phone doesn't have similar problems before I purchase :P

Just making sure this phone doesn't have similar problems before I purchase :P Working fine for me, a lot better than my pulse that's for sure (and faster...). Reconnects fine for me too. P.S. Running the b160 ROM from XDA forums. Looking forward to the future of this phone!
Guest That-Guy
Ooooo didn't know there was custom ROMs for this device already! Off to have a nosey now :P
Guest Simon O
Yep theres a 'custom' rom on XDA already but the best performance right now can be gained by updating to the latest official UK rom (B136) then using Pauls superboot image. The quadrant scores at stock speed are higher than what people are getting running the custom b160 rom with overclocked CPUs! Yeah after seeing Paul get excited that's what I had planned :P Just been to two CPW Stores within walking distance, one is out of stock and the other has never had them apparently <_< This could be a great device to develop for if they wearn't so hard to get
Guest Simon O
Yeh, they are selling out fast. Best thing to do is wait for Paul to sort out the MoDaCo deal with the phones. BTW this is an idea of the scores Paul was getting with his superboot image Over at XDA people running the b160 custom rom are reporting Quadrant scores of around 2000 when overclocked to 1.4GHz. I guess performance of the Chinese rom wasn't so good to start with. The UK rom certainly seems a lot better optimized, based on what Paul is saying. Wish I had this device myself as I really want to develop some stuff for it

That would be great :P

Where do you find the "official UK ROM" ... not got one of these (yet) but it would be useful to know what sites to look at to see what current state of play is! Excellent Cheers Mate :P So from what I have been reading I should be using U8800 V100R001C00B136 + Pauls Superboot Image, that correct?

Yep thats the latest. The phones from Carphone Warehouse shipped with B135 of the overseas rom. Most likely the MCR will be build upon B136 if Paul does one. I expect there will be one soon.
