I have heard about Galaxy S2 from my friends and many relatives. All have adviced me to my this handset as it has all the features. I asked about the phone with my online retailer Negri Electronics and they also approved this phone saying that this phone is the GodFather of mobile industry. Now the question is that I'm currently using Iphone 4g HD purchased from Negri Electronics, should I switch to Galaxy S2 as I've never used an android based handset. Does the main difference is screen size and operating system only. The reason for my question is that I'm a business man and keep a watch on my employees from TeamViewer and this software is the most important to me. Let me know the answer on urgent basis so that I can order this phone on cheap from Negri Electronics.

oh man , once you will have an android in your hand.... u'll become an iphone hater...... it's just awesome....

I have Sony xperia x10 currently...

I am going to switch to HTS sensation soon.....

Both HTC Sensation and SGS2 are real godfather of Mobile industry running on dual core 1.2 GHz beast processors and the most powerful GPUs in mobile world ever.....

there is no comparison with iphone 4 at all....maybe iphone 5 will be able to compete with these phones but not iphone 4....

What a childish reply... "u'll become an iphone hater"

Really? I hate neither phone, but Apple just gave me another reason to buy iPhone, and ditch phandroid.

its the android section of the site, anything in line with power of the desire is better then the iphone ;)

My friend has had some gaming annoyences with his gs2, and ist apparent the tegra based phones are better at gaming, even with slightly less hardware, so frankly its apples or oranges which do you prefer?

to be honest a block of cheese is an iphone beater and atleast when you get bored of the cheese you can eat it ;)

On a serious note I have access to both S2 and Iphone4 and hardwares good its the os on both that have their flaws which let the devices down. Both have their pros and cons

Ill be blunt, iPhone has better useabiltity than android, but then, if useability is an issue then I don't see much reason of having a smart phone.

Though android has much more benefits.

Pretty much every aspect of the ui can be changed with relative ease, phones can be unlocked more easily, file transfer is easier, and it is much more customizable, as most apps that come with the phone can be replaced with "better" ones.

The Sgs in terms of hardware has a nicer screen (imo) - its much more "viewable" (the SGS if brigther and more vibrant, etc) and to be honest I don't really care about the slightly lower amount of pixels on my blade to my sisters itouch 4g.)

The sgs is also much faster than the iPhone 4 and has flash support.

Android market App content is generally cheaper than in the App store. You can also install non-market apps.

Android does appear a little less attractive than iOS, but is far more funtional, and, after the user adapts it to their needs (android is a little rough around the edges out of the box) then android is the far superior OS.

Did you ever try MIUI rom of any android phone....

It's a combination of iphone UI with android UI and it's all feature.... with theme support and a lot of user friendly improvements in OS....

and we can change almost every component of UI in this ROM...

[e.g- Desktop theme , lockscreen theme , desktop wallpaper , lockscreen wallpaper , messaging theme , Icons ,Boot animation , Boot audio , Fonts , etc etc etc ]

This is the most beautiful android rom , and I use it for daily purpose on my phone....

you dont want to miss this ---

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkcnxU7qlFM...feature=related

It's feel of customizable iphone on android...... that iphone can never deliver with it's narrow spectrum OS....

ok so iOS --- > there's no homescreen , no wallpaper [only in lockscreen u can put tiny wallpaper ... lol funny ] , just screens with square icons , swipe it and iOS is over....

no bluetooth , have to use that f** itunes to transfer a simple mp3 file or videos , and cant use more then 1 pc with itunes..... lol wtf..... iTunes is worst PC suit for mobile i have ever seen in my life

u dont know what processes are running in background , and we are being driven totally blindly....

there is not a single option to customize according to our likings in iOS....

I HOPE THEY WILL DO A MAJOR IMPROVEMENT IN UI OF iOS 5 .... till then i dont like it at all....

we are very free to do anything with our phone like changing custom roms , themes , a lot of useful widgets , and we can decide what we like and what we dont....

in iphone's case , apple decides , what you have to use with no other option.... nobody cares ur liking... wtf

n tell me the reason, why iphone is stealing android UI concept of NOTIFICATION BAR in iOS 5 ????? lol....

bcoz iOS s**ks

This is what both amuses me about & puts me off Android; as soon as iOS devices or features are talked about or mentioned, some phandroid goes into a twenty paragraph technical rant, about why Android is better than iOS. You'll often find over-zealous usage of "?????" and "!!!!!" (or sometimes both), coupled with the obligatory terrible spelling and CAPS EVERYWHERE in order to convey their "point" (which, ironically, is often never actually made).

I watched the whole 2 hour WWDC keynote - always do - and I must say that iOS is where it's at, right now. Android is fantastic, but Apple just have that subtle, understated class & appeal.

The basic fact is this: iPhone looks incredible, feels incredible, works without a computer science degree & is predictable and familiar, no matter which one you own or use. THAT is the winning formula that Android has yet to match, and I doubt ever will.

Well you are doing exactly the same thing but just arguing against android and less caps. iOS and android are quite similar in ways and very different in others. Both have good and bad points. What I'd do is go in store and try them but I don't think you can seen as you live in America. If I were you I'd wait until the iPhone 5/4S is released and the Galaxy S2 is released in the US. Then go into some stores and try them both out see which one you prefer.

I've had the SGS2 a couple of weeks now, and before that I've had an iPhone 3G for 1.5 years, and have family members with the iPhone 4.

The iPhone has a lot more apps and the apps themselves are of a higher quality than android apps (not always the case, but in general), and for the average user the iPhone is easier to use.

The SGS2 is better in the Hardware department by a long way compared to the iPhone 4. The version of android in the SGS2 is Gingerbread 2.3.3 and is now in state where in general it is as good as iOS.

Of course OS each one has it's pro's and con's, and you'll notice that Apple has added a bunch of features that were first released in android to the soon to be out iOS 5 (i.e. the copied Android goodies). The irony is they accuse everyone else of copying them and now they have copied Android, and also ripped off the wi-fi sync app that a student submitted to the app store which they rejected.

Personally I think they are both great as I like the competition and it's only better for the consumer as things heat up between them and we get better features at the end of it.

As for SGS2 v iPhone 4, I'd personally say SGS2, but you'll need to see if there are any critical apps that you will need that are not available for android.
